International investigators have arrived at the crash site of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, after rebels in eastern Ukraine allowed them access.
Some 30 monitors arrived by helicopter at the scene near the village of Grabovo where the plane, carrying 298 people, crashed on Thursday.
The UN Security Council has now begun an emergency meeting in New York.

Winnipeg - A candlelight vigil was held July 17 on the steps on the Manitoba legislative building to honour those on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH17
About 40 people, including members of the local Ukrainian-Canadian community, laid about 300 candles on the front steps of the Manitoba legislature on Thursday evening.
The event aimed to "pay a moment of silence and just say a last goodbye to all the fallen victims," said Ivan Marynovsky, one of the organizers.

The intercepted phone recording isn't a fabrication, so I felt it deserved to be included in this conversation. As for being biased? Russia has invaded our home country. He's blaming our home country for downing that flight! So yes, I am biased: I trust putin and his military about as far as I could hoist and toss the bug#er! He's the epitome of evil!

CNN interviewed a woman who missed that flight. She was visibly shaken, holding her infant, saying she was given a second chance.
Can you imagine?

A couple has lost their three children and their grandfather on the flight. The parents are still in the Netherlands and the grandfather had taken the kids to see their parents and were returning before the start of the new school year. Absolutely tragic.

thank you for posting the updates on the victims everyone. That young man from Ajax really hit home for me, his life was so full of promise, as well as seeing the faces of those 3 young Australian kids and their Grampa.....such senseless loss.

i think as it seems most do that bringing down flight MH17 was a mistake by pro-russian forces.
and of course they got the means to from russia.
putin's 'logic' is very odd (then again,,,) does he suggest the us is to be blamed for 9/11?
or --- i can't bring myself to look at all the other events that have happened, over a territory.
so many sad stories one hears on news - including now how people can not recover bodies.
one thing i seem to think of is that the rocket hit so fast (faster than the speed of light i heard)
no way they knew, felt, could even think,,, before,,,, sighing.
wishing countries would step up and do something - even simple like boycott russia.
