    I had to take my Irish Wolfhound for his last ride today. He wasn't having a good quality of life anymore. His back legs would suddenly collapse while walking. He couldn't hold his bowels anymore even pooping on my bed. I will miss my big boy so much. Riggs was my protector and cuddle bug while my DH is out of the country. The house feels so empty without him here.

    So sorry for your loss I sure wish dogs could live as long as us. It's hard when you're a large dog lover because they have even less years, though they are totally worth the inevidable heartbreak.

    He was 39 inches at his shoulder and 11years old. That is almost double the age of the average Wolfhound. Sleeping without him last night was horrible.

    Wolfie, am sooo so sorry to hear your sad news. 11 years old is Awesome. Sounds like he lived longer just to be with You.

    not again is right....Wolfie you have had one heck of a roller coaster emotional time as of late. You were so selfless really though to let Riggs be relieved of any further suffering, it was probably the toughest choice you had to make. He sounded so lovely and as you say your protector. Hoping your other little pup ( was it Ouija ? ) is able to fill in the emptiness somewhat.
