Oh dear, Wolfie, I'm so terribly sorry for your loss of your companion. I know full well the hurt you're feeling right now, but you know the pain will end and you'll be able to remember him as he was, building the memories of what you and he shared; he may be gone, but not forever...you two will be united again....so sorry.....

It has been too weird around here, the house feels so empty.

and the sad thing is 3 of my other pets are reaching that age ( +13) where I know they may not have many years left.

DH called me from overseas and asked what big breed of dogs I liked. So I have a feeling I could be getting a new puppy someday soon
    Just call me Wolfie

A new BIG puppy! Oh I've always loved the larger breeds ( but not the slobbery, fluffy ones), loved our BC, Tammy, but since we downsized, we've had to downsize pups this time, too....hence, Jennifur.
But you have tons of room for a big dog to run and roam around in.....I can't wait to hear about the arrival of a new fur-kid! Btw...what was your answer?

I just looked at some images of English Mastiffs and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the puppy version/model!!
But I tip my hat to you wolfie....the grown version of any large-ish dbreed I am skittish about.
After dodging some barreling at me that size and larger at the dog park with little or no braking mechanisms in place and their eyes fixated on a tennis ball I am in awe at how some teensy tiny gals can walk beasts that large on a leash without getting dragged. I like my wee guys.
So happy that at least you are open to receiving some new furbaby love again very soon.

Lol! The best thing to do is just bend your knees a little and brace yourself. It helps with the impact. I've learned this the hard way.

ive learned the best way to mend a broken heart is to have a new baby to love.

I just came across this picture of our dear, sweet Tammy when I went to photobucket to put the picture of the knitted baby set I made to post on the Ravelry site...thought I'd post her picture here ... I still miss her and even call Jenny, Tammy sometimes! I know she's still watching over us...

OMG, so, so sorry for your loss. I sure know the feeling. We had 2 that we had to let go of them as thei were both 16 years. We too got 2 more dogs. One is a big (huge) Baby German Sheperd almost 120 pounds and the other one is a mixe of a tea cup and a chiwawa 6 pounds. It is so funny to see them playing. The big guy is a big protector off him and us too. We just love them so much. I hope you will post a pic. of yours wen you get it. I know, you will love him as much as you love the other one. Wen you loose one you have to get another one. That is how it is for us. We will always have dogs in our life. We. wish that my DH was not alergic to cats as we both love them. Again, sorry for your lost and hugs your way................

Sorrry for spelling mistake as I am still learning how write in English.
