Yeah but if they don't die they come back trained. They could also come back with a new identity. I guess CSIS feels it's a case of the devil you know. He wasn't on the list of watched radicalized people though. He was waiting to get a passport to go to Syria according to his mother.

Anyone can can come back trained and they're likely as good as any at changing identities, but passports are much more difficult to fake, and once flagged, they won't be returning. And maybe we'll get lucky and they'll die over there instead of taking a life here. We hope.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone. I'm saddened over the loss of our soldiers in Quebec and Ottawa and deeply concerned over the seriousness of the situation.
