Not sure if this is in the correct thread, but I was just wondering what a good price for meat is these days. Im located in the west atm.

I've noticed safeway has good deals on steaks, usually 6.99/lb i find is a decent deal. Anyone know if i'm correct?
I was looking to cook prime rib, how much per lb is a good deal?

    thank you in advance!

It totally depends on what cut you are paying 6.99 a pound for.
I paid 5.99 a pound for prime rib in October which was a really good sale, which I combined with a PC Plus offer to bring it down to about 4.99 a pound. Beef has gone up about 30 % though in the last couple of months though. I am in the west as well and I stock up when there is a sale.

What i find really disgusting is the price of pork! I was looking to buy a small roast pork with the ribs but it was about $14 for a small one. So i forgot it!

I was happy to see pork loin on sale for 2.99 in the west this week, it has been high here for awhile.
Next is chicken, they just killed thousands of birds on farms in BC due to the Avion Bird Flu Virus so we know that is going to hurt prices.

Do the western Walmarts have the .75/lb turkey sale this week? I bought one in Ontario for $8.59 to cook and freeze in pieces for future meals. We see .78-.88/lb turkey during holidays, and ground meat at the Asian grocery stores go down to $1.99 on good sales. I am not sure about prime rib prices.
