Christmas

My dad had a heart attack on Christmas morning. He is so lucky to still be alive. He lives with my sister and her husband and they got up at 6:00 Christmas morning with the kids for Santa and when dad didn't get up they went to check and found him in bed, sweating, not able to breathe and a greenish color so they rushed him to the hospital; he collapsed in emerg and right there at the time was the on-call cardiologist. So they cut all the clothes from his body and worked on him for a couple of hours. He did flat-line at one point. I've spent all Christmas at the hospital so far . He is still in ICU and doing "okay" , however, keeps having these "episodes" ( that's what the doctor calls them) chest tightness, shortness of breath, fluid on the lungs...they give him Lasix, morphine, etc and it helps..the last attack was 5:00 am this morning ..so see what happens today!

oh my word Kejo.. im so sorry hun. thats sounds horrible for your Dad. hopefully they find out fast whats wrong.
sounds like he may need a pacemaker. sounds like what happened to my Dad. two valves didn't work, by the time his heart realized it and the third kicked in, that was going on. that was 30 years ago. he's now into his 80's and doing well. (heart wise anyway)
anyway.. prayers for you , your Dad and family.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and well wishes!! Dad is doing okay, still hanging out in ICU..the breathing attacks are less often now, so if he can stabilize might be moved to a ward over the next couple of days. Maybe.
