how are you shocked??????? they lose 2.3 BILLION dollars last quarter. the market in canada is tougher to penetrate then in the states. but when you loose 2.3 Billion dollars its time to reconsider the relationship. Would you pay over 2.3 billion dollars to barley get the head in?

I'm not sure there is anything amusing for all the folks losing their jobs, this is another blow to the Canadian economy :-(
We don't have a target near us, I don't follow their profits or losses. So yes I'm shocked to hear they are bailingLast edited by lor1492; Thu, Jan 15th, 2015 at 08:59 AM.

Target has stunned the retail community by announcing it's planning to close all its 133 stores in Canada and file for creditor protection.
The announcement Thursday deals a huge blow to Target Canada's 17,600 employees.
Target Canada says that to ensure fair treatment of its employees, nearly all will receive a minimum of 16 weeks of compensation, including wages and benefits coverage for those employees not required for the wind-down period.
All of Target Canada's 133 stores will remain open during the liquidation process.

That is insane but we all saw it coming. The store was always empty and I hardly ever left paying more than $20. Good for me not so good for them. Its really too bad I love target.

What! bummer....
Although, I can honestly say I only shopped the sales and clearance items there.... Otherwise too expensive for me.
Thanks for breaking the news to us, OP.Last edited by canadian_girl; Thu, Jan 15th, 2015 at 09:09 AM.
