They have a ton of stock at Central City. The camping and luggage etc are filled to the brim plus lots of new spring merch. Was scouting for Thursday. Fingers crossed on good deals to start.
Believe it or not....Yesterday was my first time at CC Target. It was weird, it jsut didnt feel like my store. LOL You know how it is? But I did enjoy myself, I was totally ADHD looking at everything and scanning the price tags. haha My shopping partner is SO tolerant.

Thanks for the tip about the scanners. They all SEEMED to work when I was there, but many things were coming up with "Price Not Found" including the dog beds. Is that what you meant by they weren't working? Or were they totally out o order?

Does anyone know how they deal with "Price not Found" check out? Will they still come up with a price and sell it to you?

So City Center...lots of stock everywhere, not too many posted clearance prices to note. I did a bit of scanning on things I need but no happy surprises. The vast floor full of diapers, tp, paper towel etc like I read about earlier is here. I am guessing it is in what use to be the clothing section? Shoe dept is noticeably picked over.

Toy dept is NOT! Great selection including toys I never recall seeing at my usual store. Still some decent but not jaw dropping clearance stickers still in place. Did not have the Barbie stuff I was looking for so we left empty handed. Cops were at the front as we were leaving, but I am not sure what was going on (I will refrain from the usual Surrey jokes) . Not the way I like to end a shop....sooooo we journeyed off to the valley after that.

Long story short, it was Sat. night and I needed to quickly pm Tassimo discs before the coupon expired, so went to Walmart to PM Staples online ($6.86-$2 coupons=great price!). I looked around while I was there and found a huge end cap with a big sign "clearance", filled with pacifiers, baby food pouches, blankets, toys, etc. - all around great products to be on clearance! However, some had prices (that were reg. price) and some were not labelled. I grabbed the stuff that I was interested in and planned on scanning it. Then I ran into an employee in that section with a scanning gun. I asked about the clearance shelf and she said "some are clearance, some are not" - I asked which ones, "I don't know, some" - I said the sign says Clearance, shouldn't it all be, how can I tell what is and what isn't? She repeated "some are clearance, some are not" - I went around in circles & then she finally said "I just don't have room on the shelves over there (baby section), so I am moving the extra stock here, I don't think anything is clearance, but maybe you might find something" - WHATTT??!! - super frustrating and disappointing about my "clearance finds" - so disorganized and again the employee was not friendly nor helpful!
Target really raised the bar for us, without a doubt. I've never hesitated to ask a passing employee if they would scan a price for me, I have never been nervous in line about handing over a bunch of coupons and if I had a special request, I looked forward to asking it just to see how well they handled it. So many of them have gone out of their way to do something to help or at the very least offer to help when I was just in my own little solo shop world/zone.

I did a 3 Target tour last night and while the "deals", the pricing and the stock levels may be inconsistent between them all. The customer service at each definitely shone.
How did they do it? How did they manage to find such genuine, kind and helpful employees throughout the organization? I am so sad for them as many are losing what they consider family and that includes us as shoppers as well. I am sure some will keep in touch with each other, but I know they are going to also miss the regulars they have come to look forward to visiting with. *sigh*

I wish I could make a small gesture or do something nice for each and every one of them so they know they are appreciated.

Yes, I know what you mean. That is my go-to store - much better stock than in Delta. I went to the Langley store once and it was weird ... I felt disoriented and lost, LOL.

They made up a price for me. I think it was something left over from the Christmas stocking stuffer bins - at least that's where I saw it before Christmas. The price never worked though. It was a little people wheelies car. Anyway it was the last two in the store so they asked if I knew the price, I didn't. So they said how about $1? I see they have more different ones now (different tags and everything) and they are $3. So I got a bit of a savings.

You ARE lucky! Talk about the sweet spot. LOL The only one I have yet to visit is Maple Ridge. Is it worth a look today? I already plan to visit CityCenter and Chilliwack today.

Not sure if the practice has changed, but in the past when this happened (and it happened to me very frequently) they would just ask what the price was and I'd make up a number. It was great, kind of like Priceline, where you name your own price!

Agreed, I was told last night to take my Barbie mansion home and make sure all the pieces are there because today it the very last day for any returns. I was happy because it meant I had an excuse to play, but also very sad because when I reply to that saying, "So its true, its really the end and liquidation starts Thursday?" He got shiny eyes which then triggered me.

I hear theres a lot of theft at target. Certain locations have no loss prevention officers so you can basically just walk out with stuff... Not all locations because i still see target security.

Same. Walking around it yesterday I was a little sad. Its the only store where I knew where everything was and knew a bunch of the staff. A couple of the cashiers yesterday said that they are sad that they won't get to see my son grow up.

Anybody been to Scottsdale lately? I might go there today.

vw_girl how was maple ridge. I was there a few weekends ago and it was full of stock including toys but not much on clearance.

Its great to hear your experience. There were several things at CC that were ringing up like that and I wasn't sure if it was a system issue or other. I think that I will head back over later and take my chances.

At least they are still Target discussions!

There is a lot of theft at just about any store. Target does not believe in chasing thieves out the door. No worries, thieves are on camera, cases are built against them, and they are eventually caught. All Targets have Assets Protection, whether you see them or not.
