Last May when we moved to a new home, we bought a new king-sized bed. We purchased it from Sears and spent a considerable amount as both DH and I have sleeping issues. We were "sold" on a firm pillow-top.
Recently, DH started complaining of a sore back and saying that there was a "dip" in the bed.
We kept our old queen-sized as a bed for visitors and even though we had had it for over 10 years, it is still comfortable and firm.
Well, Sears has a 365 "Great Sleeps" guarantee. DH started on his quest.
We had to have purchased a particular mistress cover (which we had.)
We had to have purchased a particular box-spring ( which we had.)
And we had to book a visit with the "dip-analizer" who came and measured and took about 15 pictures ("with circles and arrows on the back" to quote "Alice's Restaurant")
He then sent in his report.
And TAH DAH! We had followed all the rules to qualify for a new bed.
We had already visited the store and were "Sold" this time on a firm Eurotop.
This morning 2 very efficient young men came and switched us out. (We even got help putting the bed-skirt on this time.)
Although it took jumping a few hoops, I'm very HAPPY with the result.
I am lying on it as I type this.
Mmmmmm comfy! And no "dips."This thread is currently associated with: Sears, Spring Shoes

Ha! I really did LAUGH OUT LOUD! Thanks to the "auto-correct" I printed "mistress" cover and it really should have been "mattress cover"!

Aww so glad it worked out for you. Nothing like investing so much money for something that won't last.
DH and I had a similar problem with a king size bed but we bought at sleep country. Stupid dips. This time around we spent the extra money and got 100% latex mattress which lasts twice or more as long as a conventional mattress. Its been almost 3 months and not even close to dipping whereas we had dips within the first month of our old one.Insert Clever Signature Here

I was young when Arlo Guthry' s song was a hit. What I didn't know until I met my DH who lived in the States was that on their Thanksgiving Day every year, at noon, all the radio stations play "Alice's Restaurant." I don't know how that got started but last November we were in the States that day and heard it on the radio. DH said, "It must be noon," and sure enough, it was!

Nothing beats a comfortable mattress the first one I got was from sleep country and it cost a lot but was horrible. I just bought one a few month's ago from the art shoppe and it's amazing I love it. Good job keeping up with everything that needed to be done to get it replaced. I'm sure your going to have a great nights sleep

I didnt spend my childhood in Canada so I didn't know about this Alice in wonderland story but i had a very fun time reading your brag and then watching the video walkonby has posted. You have a very good sense of humour, i must say!
and your auto correct is even funnier than you. Mistress cover? Good lord! Keep us away from these covers! Lol
Jokes aside, thanks for posting the details about sears policy and what happened with the mattress. We are thinking about buying a new mattress as our this mattress is full of dips here and there.
