    1) Type the following address in the address bar:

    about:config (and hit <enter>)

    2) Double-click network.http.pipelining and network.http.proxy.pipelining. They will change when you double-click from a False value to True.

    3) Double-click network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and change the integer value in the popup to 30.

    4) Right-click anywhere in the list and select "New" followed by "integer". In the new popup box, enter "nglayout.initialpaint.delay", and set the value to 0 (zero) in the next popup box.

    5) Double-click on browser.cache.memory.enable so it changes to True.

    6) Double click on browser.cache.disk.capacity and change the value to 70000.

These changes should take effect immediately.

    Enjoy faster FF3!

Changing these advanced settings can be harmful to the stability, security, and performance of this application. You should only continue if you are sure of what you are doing.

That IS funny. The developers at Mozilla have a great sense of humour.

There is another trick to helping speed up 'Fox, and it involves creating a new Firefox profile. I'm working on a how-to for that and I'll post it too.

It sounds as if you're entering about:config in the Google search box or other search box. You need to enter it in the main address bar that shows the URL of the site you're visiting: the long text box to the right of the forward and back arrows.

    Easy mistake.

You have to create this parameter manually, then set its value.

    4) Right-click anywhere in the list and select "New" followed by "integer". In the new popup box, enter "nglayout.initialpaint.delay", and set the value to 0 (zero) in the next popup box.

I knew this a long time ago, it seems it's slower for me. I suggest only using this method if your internet is really slow. Then you will see a difference. I have a fast High speed interent. Download speed seems to be a little faster. but page loading time is slower.
I decided to reinstall my Firefox because it was slower
