Here's my update from this last week. Some mixed news.
I am now in Saskatoon with LO, staying at my Mom's until the twins are born.
I found out that I am strep B positive, which surprised me since I as negative with my last pregnancy. This means that I will need an IV of antibiotics when I go into labour.
On Friday I had my 36wk 2 day ultrasound. Baby A (boy) head down, 5lb 12oz, engaged
Baby B (girl) bum down, 5lb 5oz
At my 31wk 2 day ultrasound both babies were head down. Baby boy dropped 2 weeks ago, which apparently provided baby girl with enough room to flip. I should be able to avoid a c-section. I should be able to deliver baby boy, then have baby girl turned before I deliver her too.
With my labour with LO, I was able to have him completely naturally. I didn't even have an IV for fluids or any type of pain meds. I'm not too happy to see that this labour is already gauranteed to have more medical involvement. Oh well, the babies are healthy and I should still be able to avoid a c-section. I see my OBGYN tomorrow & plan on posting again.Last edited by Angela273; Sun, Jul 26th, 2015 at 03:17 PM.

Thanks for the update, The main thing is the babies are healthy and you should be able to avoid the c-section.

thanks for the update Angela, in a way I would say the news is really good, I mean healthy and ready to be born soon with just a touch of medical intervention compared to your first birth, you are doing great!! Good luck, hope your DH gets there in time for the birth(s).

Some encouragement! I am Group B Strep Positive for this pregnancy and was for my other two as well. It is an IV drip that goes in and is taken out once the antibiotics are administered. I know OBs are more cautious with twin births and they may recommend more monitoring, but I hope knowing the Group B Strep isn't a biggie will help!
I have been fearing needing a Cesarean after having two births without pain medication, one successfully at home. Reminding myself that every birth is different has helped. I also read recently not to allow yourself to be "sectioned," if necessary, have a Cesarean birth, be present and birth your child via Cesarean if needed.
I hope these thoughts help you as they have helped me. Your forever bonded over a SC pregnancy friend, Granger"There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

I had a stressful appointment with my OBGYN yesterday. She wanted me to pick a birthday for the twins, etc.
3:30am I woke up with regular 3-4min apart contractions. Dh is currently driving up from 5hrs away. I am at the hospital being assessed. Contractions are staying good and regular. Doing this post is helping to distract me some. We'll see about updates as the day goes on, but no promises.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

I'm sorry to disappoint, but the twins are still firmly inside. They keep changing the contractions, which have ranged from hard contractions, cluster or piggy back contractions, to breaks with nearly no contractions. Since I am having twins, they are restricting me a lot more this time around. When in active labour: no tub or shower, continual monitoring, prefer that I am I'm bed, limited amount of movement within my own room, IV antibiotics every 4hrs, etc. They have the clear liquids diet in place. Last night they let me have supper and this morning they are finally letting me eat again for breakfast because I am not making much progress. We prefer not to have my labour augmented, we understand the risks.

Disappointment!? never Angela!
I think I speak for a lot (if not all) of your Smart Canucks family when I say that there is absolutely no disappointment coming from us.
As long as Mommy, twins, and the rest of your family are doing well, that's all that matters.
We're all patiently waiting for your posts and updatesDANGER

Amen to Danger Dan. You can do this. I am sure it feels like a long journey ahead! I thought I couldn't see the finish line and Josie was out in 2 contractions/pushes from there! Sending strength and perseverance.
