A woman and her three children were found murdered on Wednesday in their home in Tisdale - Latasha Gosling, 27, Jenika, 8, Landon, 7, and Janayah, 4.
The sole suspect in the murder, Steve O’Shaughnessy - Gosling's boyfriend, who lived at the home with the children, was found dead at his parents' Prince Albert home, about 130 kilometres away. He had with him a six month old, who was unharmed. That child was his and the deceased mother's - he was not the father of the murdered children.
Gosling's cousin Tim Funk said Thursday that the killer took photos of her and the three children after they had been murdered, and sent the photos to the children's biological father. After receiving the pictures, the father called the RCMP.
Funk said the killer was Gosling's boyfriend and he had been controlling and jealous.
Police were first alerted to a problem Tuesday evening, when a family member reported that Gosling and her children had not been heard from all day and were “unreachable." Several hours later, Tisdale RCMP officers found the four inside the house.

Gosling was separated from her husband, but not officially divorced, and had been with the new boyfriend for the last couple of years, Funk said. (He's Latasha's cousin)
The husband often went to visit his three kids: Jenika, Landen and Janayah. They had been living most recently with Gosling and the boyfriend in a rented mobile home in the town of Tisdale, northeast of Saskatoon.
The boyfriend "didn't like it at all" when the husband came around, Funk said.
O'Shaughnessy's sister, Selina Siwy, said in a social media posting that people "don't know the whole story behind the situation. We have been trying to get him help for years and we thought he was in the clear. We loved him then and we love him now."

Steve O'Shaughnessy
A statement released by O’Shaughnessy's family on Thursday said he did not have a history of violence, but he had struggled with mental health issues.
"We will likely never know why this senseless act occurred," said the statement. "The Gosling family does not deserve this."
The family has set up a GoFundMe webpage to help pay the costs of funeral arrangements. By Thursday evening, more than $45,000 had been raised.
The funeral and a candlelight vigil are set to take place next week.

A few years ago, Tasha had started a FB group for divorced/separated parents - some very moving tributes to her and her children on it

I caught that news story yesterday Natalka and was just as upset by it all. So disturbing that her children became his victims as well as her. Mental health issues or not, he ( O’Shaughnessy ) seemed beyond cruel to have sent photos of the dead members to the biological father.

Emotional Tisdale, Sask. vigil remembers murdered mom, 3 children
TISDALE, Sask. – More than 250 people clutched candles and cried at an emotional vigil last night (Wed) for a mother and three children killed in a murder-suicide in rural Saskatchewan.
The vigil included tears, music, and balloons in honour of Latasha Gosling, 27, and her children Jenika, 8, Landen, 7, and Janayah, 4, whose bodies were found in their mobile home in Tisdale last week.
May 1 - Several hundred people gathered in Nipawin, Sask., Friday to attend the funeral services for Latasha Gosling and three of her children
Gosling grew up in Nipawin, a small town about 60 kilometres north of Tisdale, and Friday's service filled the local church and an adjacent hall.
In a eulogy that drew on remembrances from family members, Jenna Salisbury described Latasha, 27, as a "beautiful, joyful person" who loved her children and was loved and adored by them.
"Latasha made everything possible to her children, with the sky being the limit," Salisbury said.
Salisbury also spoke about the slain children. Jenika, 8, loved being a big sister and was starting to pursue a modelling career. Landan, 7, was described as bringing happiness to his father and was called "his little man." Janayah, 4, was the family's "fiery little redhead."
The circumstances of the killings have spurred discussions about domestic violence. Speakers at the candlelight vigil emphasized the need for people in dangerous situations to seek help.
