McDonalds may add kale to their menu
McDonald’s is testing a burrito bowl with kale in Southern California, its latest effort to reinvent itself.
Only months after McDonald’s made fun of kale in a TV spot for the Big Mac, the hamburger chain confirmed Wednesday it is testing a $3.99 breakfast bowl that includes the ingredient at nine restaurants in Southern California. That burrito bowl also has turkey sausage and egg white.

I couldn't agree with you more Midnightly yet they are constantly being bashed for not serving "healthy/healthier" meals. McDonald's was never intended to be a place to go to for healthy food. Actually there is a study out there that I read last year (can still be found if you google it) that said their salads only made 2-3% of their sales. DH and I maybe go out for dinner 5 times a year (Yes, you read that right) and one of those times it's to McDonalds where I want a huge Big Mac, Large fries and a coke!!
I have never had Kale so I can't see myself eating it at McDonalds.

I agree with the comments.
I like kale. I don't like kale at McDonalds.
McDonalds should just bring back their pizza.
All their problems would be solved.

I grew up eating kale boiled and mashed together with potatoes. It's a Dutch thing. I consider it a comfort food, although it probably isn't a health food since it's served with big, fat sausages. I can't eat it raw because it hurts my throat.

They really should stick with what is working for them. Kale just doesn't seem to be a good fit right now. YUK

OMG Shwa Girl, you just brought back so many memories for me. The day McDonald's introduced pizza to the Canadian market, my mother made sure I was the first person in line at our local McDonald's to get her a pizza. We even saved the little box they came in because she thought it would have been a "collector's item". LOL!

I have only juiced kale ( and it is great in the mean green one I make ) and I've tried making " healthy " kale chips in the oven once or twice. But..... eating it as a veg? That might be a lot to ask of McD's customers, I'm certain I won't be in the lineup.

I agree with @toronto166 if they don't add healthier stuff people criticize them. When they do add healthier people criticize them. Can they never win? LOL
All restaurants add new products for limited time only. Subway, Burger King, KFC. McDonalds has been adding grilled items/salads/coffee/smoothies all this other stuff. I don't understand why people still think of it as a burgers only placeApply every possible promo code to your cart, at every store that you visit (and get points for cash back on top of that?). McDonald's commercials for their new salads is out. The salad with kale, well, not much kale. Just a bit. But the critics don't like the fat in this salad with the dressing and everything.
