hmmm... maybe she IS FBI... what are kind of packages are you getting? or maybe next time you should ask HER tons of questions... she seems suspicious...

I have a PO box so I have pick up all mail. The ladies there are great. The one did ask me once why I get so many parcels and I told about the freebies. Now when I go the parcel is waiting for me as soon as they see me walk in. Most times I have no idea what is comming in and if I don't have the kids with me I open it parcel there. They love seeing what I got and I don't mind. Being in a small town/ village is great for that. They have even gotten me my mail when I have missed placed my key. Something they are not supposed to do.

hehe you thought your mail man was bad check this out

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Something-Very-H...6.c0.m14.l1308
Here's the deal - I was clearing some land at my house (previously a farm site) and came across what was probably the original farmer's scrap metal pile. I hauled most of it off except for some interesting pieces I dug up that I thought might come in handy someday.

    THAT DAY IS TODAY!!!

I buy and sell quite a bit on Ebay and had never had delivery problems until I recently moved. I am on a rural route with a contract mail carrier who drives a car that's missing all the hub caps from all the curbs and ditches he/she's encountered, has a cracked windshield from who knows what and has dents all in the front fenders and bumper from what ever else has mistakenly happened in the path of Mario Andretti mailperson. My bills arrive 2 weeks after the postmark, most of the time via my neighbor's 2 feet because they ended up in his mailbox. I frequently get my neighbor's mail but that poor ba%tard only gets bills, nothing interesting like a nudie mag or a good Netflix movie.

I never really minded all of this until my last Ebay purchase in which I bought a set of lawn mower blades for my garden tractor. A great transaction from a dude under the Ebay handle "sel_lo" in which I would highly recommend for lawn and garden items. Sel_lo dude mailed my blades the same day and USPS said I would have them in 1 day. I took the old blades off my lawn tractor and threw them in the trash, feeling confident I would have my new blades the next day. Next day came and went - no blades. Same thing the next day and the next day. Meanwhile, grass is growing quite well due to the recent rain. Next day, no blades - getting concerned, I'll wait 1 more day. Next day, no blades, lost my dog in the front yard, farmer stopped and asked if he could bale my hay, cows lining up to get the fresh grass. Next day, no blades - Sel_lo sent me the shipping confirmation and low and behold, my blades were delivered and confirmed the day after I bought them, but to where????? Next day Sunday,, no mail. On Monday, I called the postmaster Dick Cheney or Condoleezza Rice or whoever is in charge of that and they said they would check into it and find out where Mario delivered my item to. I requested that if they didn't find them, could I borrow some goats. He/she agreed to the goats. Two days later, I found my dog, got a call from Condoleezza Cheney - my blades were delivered to some sweet little old lady who didn't drive and had to wait for a ride to the post office to return this package that wasn't her's. The address the package arrived at wasn't even close to mine - to protect the victims, I will make up street names and numbers (any resemblance to actual address is strictly coincidental):

    Supposed to go to:

377 Valley Glen Hill Meadow Road

    Went to:

    2 Flat Avenue

Very kind Postmaster Cheney happened to be at the post office counter when little old lady returned my package, noticed the address, remembered he owed me some goats, put my blades in his personal car and delivered them to my house, called to follow up with me and sincerely apologized. I got home, installed my blades, mowed my grass, found a car in my yard, scared up a doe and 2 fawns, discovered I had not 1 but 2 dogs now and sold my goats.

HERE'S THE FUN PART - Flat rate USPS shipping, regardless of weight, is $9.80 - if it fits in the flat rate box, it costs $9.80. This thing weighs at least 25 pounds. My enjoyment and satisfaction will be watching mailperson lug this thing off my porch and to his/her demolition derby auto. Your enjoyment, if you've had similar experiences to mine, will be watching your maildude/chick lug this to your porch. About half the time I sell an item on Ebay, I get an email from the buyer with specific directions about packaging or labeling or what-not because their mailperson is bad about not delivering packages and leaving items at the post office for pick-up. If I understand the regulations correctly, these flat rate boxes will be delivered directly to the home. I know people are out there just like me - have some fun with this. I will label it with my state, where it was dug up out of the ground. Once you get it, label it with your state and put it back on Ebay for someone else to enjoy - I'll enclose a sheet of labels - let's see if we can get all 50 states. The winning bidder will get this heavy chunk of iron, nothing more, nothing less. worth about $0.10 per pound scrap price. Bidding starts at a penny. Shipping will be $9.80. I accept Paypal and money order. Let's have some fun!!!

Here's the sad part, shipping is getting so expensive these days, it's rediculous. Mailed my mom a card this morning for $0.42. I'm a pretty young person and I remember when it was $0.18, the highest rate of inflation since gasoline and diesel.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!!!!

I totally agree. This is something that needs to be reported. She has no business talking to you at all about your mail. Period. If she has an issue then I'm sure there is likely a procedure for them to follow.

    Great story, Sally!

As for whether or not we're afraid of postal workers, I think someone actually mentioned postal workers in the phobia thread.

I totally understand. You never know when they're going to go...you know....POSTAL!

I think Sally888 needs a little R&R in the city.

    The country sounds too bizarre!
