I ask because I never did and I have been recommended by a few people to try it to relieve stress and anxiety. I have no idea where to even begin. I know I asked about this in the past, I am not sure if it was on here or another forum but I never got a good answer. I would like to know where to begin and what the best method is.

I took a class through our city's activity guide.I twas meditation through a Jin shin Jyustu instructor. Here is a link on how it works,http://www.eisenbuch.de/wholesome-li...nd-meditation/
I enjoyed it very much and it does really help control anxiety. I fell asleep in quite a few classes !! It takes a while to find the balance between relaxation and meditating to out like a light!!Last edited by thriftygranny; Tue, May 5th, 2015 at 07:39 AM.

Google "guided meditation" on youtube and choose the ones with the most views...they'll give you a pretty good idea what it 'so all about. Start with short periods if you have to...it takes time to develop the gift of sitting still and calming the mind.....good luck on your new adventure! Your friends are right....it's so relaxing, yet refreshing!

mediation? I wish! My mind is on overdrive most days, and for no good reason. I did try it many years ago but was not very successful at it, plus I think the people that taught me the how to were later declared a cult! lol. No judgement please I was very young and impressionable. ( and I never really joined the cult or paid them $$, thank goodness, just was influenced by someone in it....sigh)

Ok here's where I really come out of the broom closet. First time I meditated, I started to astral project. Scared the bejees out of me. Now I have a lite white candle going as to keep me grounded. So far meditating is great!!

Okay, I'll come out if the closet too.....also astro-projected...could do it before falling asleep, at will until I got 'lost' on some sort of old, tall building with others (either real or other projectiles) and got so scared I never did it again. I tried it years later but couldn't do it; I imagine I'm still too frightened to give into it. I guess I needed that white candle, Wolfie. And don't get me started on osychometry! Lol!!

Many muslims call their prayers "meditating", which they do five times a day~!
