Thread: From Heartbreak to Joy

This week was a tough one. We lost our beloved Oreo. Gone too soon at 4 1/2. He had multiple problems over the years including being missing for 2 weeks(stuck somewhere) came back thin and dirty and bloodied. Then 2 broken legs . Since the beginning we knew he had a heart murmur which gave him seizures occasionally and unfortunately Wednesday he succumbed to one of those seizures. We are all heartbroken and although we have 3 others it was just not the same without him. We told the kids we would think about getting another one in the fall but that plan went out the window today when we visited the local shelter.
Here is Axel our new love.
RIP Oreo

However Axel is going to be one spoiled kitty!

Oh Patty and family, I am so, so sorry for the loss of your little fur-angel. Gone too soon. I'm sure that he is in a better place if he had so many bo-bos, poor little one. I am so sorry. I'm certain he knew he was loved and cherished just like this little cutie will soon find-out. What a honey, Axel looks like he is already settled-in and getting his shared of snuggles and love. Awwe, congratulations on your new addition to the family and I'm certain Oreo is happy to see this little one and his new family. (hugs).

So sorry for your loss. We went through this at the end of August last year and like you, we adopted two new sweet babies soon after. It really does help heal the heart, and you can take comfort knowing that Oreo was loved to the fullest extent for his whole life, and in his passing another cat will have the chance to live with his loving family. He's smiling down on you from Kitty heaven
You watch out for that Axel though, one orange hair on a cat and you get a little fireball! He'll surely be a joy in your house, orange cats have such personality! He looks like my first one, Jesse.

Patty, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's very hard when a loved one passes on - especially for the kids. But Axel will enjoy filling the gap and soaking up all the love you had for Oreo! And another little stray will find a wonderful home! Hugs to you all.
