She's not terribly bright, and cannot think on her feet. She tries to memorize talking points that are fed to her. Media interviewers went easy on her because she is the first cabinet minister from Nunavut, and she was made a cabinet minister because she' from Nunavut. There are a lot of good people emerging in Nunavut now, and i hope the future is bright for all the people there, but Aglukkaq is no leader. A good person, sure, but not a leader of anything, let alone Canada.

The part I really didn't know, is that no matter what happens Monday evening with the results if no one gets a majority, Harper will still wake up Tuesday morning as Prime Minister - then they move on from there.

Yes I didn't know that either, should be an interesting day tomorrow.

Sadly, most cabinets are all about media and not about the best candidate for the job - and not just in the Cons cabinet, the same is true in Ontario and certainly the UK Cabinet when I worked there.

But while I will agree that we may see Kenney as leader, I doubt anyone in the party would choose Aglukkaq

He doesn't have a pile of experience, but I quite like Erin O'Toole. His father was an Ontario MPP so while not an MP for long, he knows the political system well and is not as divisive as Harper. While a Minister, also not real Harper person (as in, he supported him but not a real policy maker or close confidant), he served in the Forces and went on to study law so actually has a grasp of Canada unlike some of the alternative career politicians in the party.

One of the huge things I like is he is a proponent of actual democracy (well parliamentary democracy at least) and has helped raise funds for campaigns to further democracy in Canada and teach youth about why it is important. It would be nice to see the Cons stop playing games with democracy.

I just thought of an upside to a Liberal majority if those numbers hold. I'll get to complain for the next 4 years about how 61% of the electorate DID NOT vote for the government! Rant, rant...

Look at the other upsides
1. At least it is only the Libs and not NDP
2. Justin is better eye candy, maybe ppl will get interested and vote next time
