No Frills $1.49 lb for the Ground Beef & Pork (sale $2.97lb)

Our local No Frills marked down their Ground Beef & Pork product down by 50%. The ground meat is on sale this week for $2.97lb, but with the 50% discount, we paid only $1.49lb. At these prices, we bought 24 lbs (8 packs x 3 lbs).

We were surprised the mark down was so early. We purchased the ground meat on August 4th and the expiration date on the product was August 7, 2015. I speculate, overall, No Frills was overstocked and wanted to move as much ground meat as possible, thus the early discount, so you may find your own store has marked them down too.

Our ground meet was immediately packaged to individual portions, and froze. Our freezer is so full...

Our no frills had 30% off stickers the ground beef/pork mix. I got 5 packages at around $5 a pack

How does the beef taste mixed in with pork? Does it still taste like ground beef? Dh doesn't like pork so I'm wondering if I bought it and didn't tell him it has pork if he's notice the difference.

Big difference. He'll think it's the BEST beef he's ever tasted.
You can't tell there's pork in it. The pork enhanced the taste of the beef. Much more juicier.

We always buy the 60/40 (beef/pork) mix.
My son refuses to eat pork, but he loves my burgers, chili, and meatballs!
