Both the P&G Brandsaver and the SmartSource were in this morning's (subscription) Calgary Herald.

I also found out last weekend that the Airdrie Safeway runs an Airmiles promo every 2 weeks. If you spend $100, you get a bonus 250 Airmiles, spend $200 you get a bonus $500 Airmiles. (Having a teenage boy in the house, that $200 is just a drop in the bucket!) If you go every 2 weeks, you could earn enough points for a flight every month and a half. The promo is on this week, and needless to say I'll be taking a little trip up to Airdrie....

I went to Airdrie Safeway today.
Spent $208.00 and received 675 airmiles.

If Airdrie Safeway does this every two weeks I will certainly go out again.

Kittyboots - Not sure yet. My MIL has terminal cancer, so we're a little hesitant to go anywhere right now. I have a niece getting married in Vegas this summer (kill me now) and am planning on Ottawa around Thanksgiving, but nothing other than that. I'm sure once January rolls around it will be hard to resist the pull of going somewhere hot!

Has anyone else has their National post delivered today with the 2 inserts in them??
Last weekend our NPost had no red plum but herald did. Today the same thing once again. Herald yes 2 inserts. N post nothing. Arrggg!!!

Ours only had the Smart source in it... we did get the Red Plum in our flyers last week though- a first for us!

My review of the weekend I had booked (look at page 404 of this post).
We had such a good time. Great weekend off for me with meal planning, cooking and clean up. We enjoyed the zoo and had a relaxed time. Went in the hot tubs twice. They don't have a pool. But they do have steam showers. The picnic lunch was a roast beef sandwich, water bottle, muffin. You can take an apple from the reception area too. The buffet meals were great selection. In total five full meals for us, zoo pass for the day, two nights stay at hotel. Total 398.99 including tax. The kids felt like they were away for longer than it was. Great deal for a mini vacation. I would love to do this again in six months (you can replace zoo tickets with calaway park).

BREAKING NEWS......Brandsaver booklets should be in the flyers you get today or tomorrow!!! This is the small bundle of flyers (the one I never really look at). My boys deliver flyers and Brandsaver was in the ones they delivered today.

Thank you! I was so disappointed when I didn't get either the SS or the P&G in my flyers last week. The poor flyer guy, I chased him down again to ask if he had extras.... He asked me for a list though and he is keeping his eye out and will bring them to me from now on!!

I am meeting with a new couponer tomorrow morning at 10:30 am. I tried to choose a central locations incase anyone wants to joing us. Monique and I hit the motherload of inserts in the middle of the wee early freezing cold hours last night....... we found bundles that some poor subscribers did not have delivered tossed away!!
I have now over 60 of each insert..please contact me if you need some .......

Wow!! Well done you! How did you manage that? I can't believe that deliverers can get away with that, but I suppose unless someone complains to their manager that they didn't receive their flyers, they wouldn't be any the wiser!

these were not flyer bundles, these were probably subscriber newspaper bundles!!!!!!
Go figure!! As far as we could figure it out.
The Calgary Herald/Sun papers delivered at any store have a return policy in place for them to not lose money.so at the end of that day they get picked up if any left.
I cannot see any store tossing these bundles out.they would just be throwing away money they have to account for.

A newspaper home delivery person would have these to deliver to their delivery routes. If they dump them...... then you would think that the subscriber would be whining that their paper is missing. I certainly have in the past....want my paper if I am supposed to get it.....lol!!

These were all still in their wrapped up bundles, all neatly tightly bundled with a sheet of brown paper on top...... found in 3 different areas!!

We have seen a woman a few months ago, acting really strange near a recycle depot and after a long while ( we saw her waiting for us to leave and I drove away and parked) we watched her dump lots of stuff....bundles of papers.....many of them, guessing she was dumping her delivery route instead of delivering them to the homes..she was from out of town........saw her delivery sheets!! She was wearing a neck brace....... we concluded that she may have been injured and did not delivery her route........ak!!! Why not just let the route manager know there is a problem.

I find it ironice that there were so many in the city...... usually you read of others finding bundles, but they are usually from smaller areas.......

Here in Calgary, I would expect that the route managers would be responsibe if there are papers or flyers missing from their delivery routes..... someone has to be accountable for them.......

Years ago when I lived in Macewan, we did the flyer route there. Before we did the route, I would receive a call every few months checking if they had been received for that week.

Of course these may have been overages from a newspaper deliver route manager...... thats a lot of extra papers...... hmmm!!!!
