Re. Paypal--Agree with the comments already made. I cashed in for $10 and had US$10 deposited into my Paypal account. If you use Paypal to pay for something in US $ you can just leave it there in that currency. I do some purchases online with small amounts, some US dollars and some Canadian dollars so I typically have a balance in each currency, but I am careful to not have too much there. There are Paypal horrow stories out there.
If you want to move it to your bank account, you will have to change to Canadian dollars--they only allow Canadians to link to a Canadian $ account. Also there is a fee to move less than $150 from your Paypal account to your bank account. To move $150 or more, no fee. Don't remember the fee amount off the top of my head, but you can look it up on the Paypal site.
