Anyone know what the trend is for teenage/young adult male winter footwear here in Victoria? My son needs new athletic shoes as well as winter footwear. My dd17 says all the boys she knows just wear athletic shoes with lots of socks and plastic bags during the winter.

lol ya i wouldn't go for the plastic look either.. although my kids wear 'clunkers' to school .. as we get a ton of snow.. and walking in shoes is not the best idea.. however once they get to school they change into cool shoes.. high tops.. sneakers. im not sure what the link takes you to that islander is refering to but it sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

You could always try Higher Ground clothing on Yates street as well (in the Alley by the Odeon Theatre). It's a smaller skate clothing and shoe store (which usually means higher prices...but you would probably be getting something different from what everyone else at school has), plus the staff is super friendly and helpful and it is locally owned.

I'm in Saskatoon, and you just can't get these guys into boots! Plus we are colder in the winter and get more snow than you!
The only boots he'll wear is his winter steeltoed ones.
Mine will just wear skater shoes or like these, last pair he bought

However, will wear boots for going sledding, etc.
