Yes.
All the time!!
For me, it's more a case of going to do something, heading in that general direction, then forgetting what I was supposed to do there when I finally get there! Happens more often than I'd care to admit!Last edited by Lynn49; Mon, Sep 14th, 2015 at 09:11 AM.

OP, your question reminds me of a commercial for foster parenting, where they mistook a mayonnaise bottle for the sunscreen bottle at the beach. Catch phrase was You don't have to be perfect to be a parent.

I walk and gather around here, I just hate the way things get dropped where they do not belong.
For instance as I leave the bedroom I might pick up a pair of DH's socks that missed the hamper, and in the bathroom I'll take the glass that DD took upstairs, oh and there is that small set of earbuds DS was asking about, and as I descend I notice some items that were left on the steps,
( bobbie pins, nail clippers, throat lozenges ) so I grab them too. My fingers all have a secure grip separately on many things, but as I enter the living area I now see one of the dogs left me a surprise on the rubber running mat.
So I maneuver without dropping anything and Kleenex it up and head to the kitchen to drop the glass in the sink first, and then down to the basement to flush the Kleenex, with everything else in my hands. Easy peasy, I have done this many times, saves steps.
Now every once in a while I have dropped one of these collected items in the wrong spot. Like DS's earbuds nearly landed in the kitchen garbage can as I let go of some cellophane garbage. And I once dropped a doggy Kleenex filled parcel in the washer when I let go of some clothes. Thankfully I noticed it before I turned the washer on!
Only once when I was in the basement I had grabbed some clean tea towels to take back up, but then I detoured to the freezer in search of meat to defrost for dinner and after shuffling packages all around and finally digging out what I wanted I get upstairs and cannot find the tea towels. Went back down, they were nowhere!? had I imagined grabbing some? Nope, they had either fallen in the freezer or I actually put them in there! That was really sad for me, I thought " am I THAT old "??
