Through a family friend, we were invited to the Lassonde Employee Apple Fest. We parked at the Apple Cider manufacturing plant as arranged and were greeted with all you can drink Irish Pub style apple cider (contained alcohol) and Apple Cider Wine (also all you can drink). This was at 10:30 AM. There were six school buses to bus people to the orchard. Then we were bussed to their huge apple orchard where we were handed bags for picking apples (25 lb bags) and tickets for the food trucks.

There were 4 food trucks and each had a different meal. Pulled pork; fried chicken, meatball subs; or hamburgers. Simply delicious!!!!!!!!!

Upon arrival we walked into a huge barn and there were kiosks with all sorts of cold Oasis Juices. These were all free and as much as you wanted. Also there were these large Mr Freezes for the kids, face painting, a choral group from Montréal (which were fantastic), a small band playing current music. And all the Tim Horton`s coffee you can drink.

Outside, there were bouncy thingies for the kids and some sort of soccer skill kicking in the net thing for kids. Also there were kiosks set up offering Canton Laura Secord chocolate fondu with apple slices, fresh pressed apple juice and of course the apple cider wine! The line up for the chocolate fondu with apple slices was the longest!

There was also a balade (tractor pulled wagon) to bring us through the apple orchard. We got off and picked three 25lb bags of apples, and waited for the balade to bring us back.

We had a gorgeous day! It was nice and sunny and warm in the orchard. With the kids and everything, there must have been at least 5,000 people. First bus left and 10:45 am and last bus was at 4:00 PM. So people arrived in stages. It was crowded by not to much. We were on the second bus to leave for the orchard and we left to go home at 2:30PM. Totally enjoyed my day. Even got a bag of corn when we got off the bus to go home!

Thanks for sharing - sounds like a blast!
We left with three 25 lb bags of apples, but some left with 6 to 8 25lb bags of apples! My son and his wife left with 5 25lb bags of apples and my daughter left with 3 25lb bags. The Lassonde apple orchard is humungus! They have several kinds of apples but we were only allowed to pick McIntosh apples. Didnt really care because i love McIntosh apples! Mr Lassonde owns huge tracts of land in and around Rougement QC which is apple growing country here. And we are Lucky enough to live 15 minutes away from Rougement. Been picking applies in Rougement since i was a child.
