Saundyl: you must be so relived to have her out of the space, you deserve the room after being so nice about having her work there for so long.
I have been pretty busy with work, really focused on how much longer I will stay and DH and I have a plan. So spending has been non existent. I did not even do any grocery shopping this weekend. I had already bought the turkey and we had all the veg we needed. I now need to buy a bigger one as we had very little leftovers. It's Logan's fave. We had our turkey yesterday just the 4 of us and then today drove to the in laws for lunch and took the scenic drive home to see the colors. Then DH and I did a huge walk in one of the big ravines in Oakville, bought fresh bread from the bakery and served leftovers for dinner. Next we we are doing thanksgiving with my family, it's the reality of working around custody of my nephew. Thankfully he is older and we are all pretty flexible. I don't know how families with younger kids do it. Logan is just excited for another turkey dinner.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

^DH and were up from 8-11pm peeling, boiling, mashing taters on Thurs. for Sat dinner at his mom's. I told my family, one big dinner is enough.
Since my mom is in Nova Scotia helping my aunt with cancer, dad is coming up for dinner tomorrow...nothing special... BBQ chicken and leftover "company" mash.
We are starting to say sorry we will attend next time to one side of the family, to keep holidays at their core."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

Saundyl, I am so glad you now have a craft room! (And as for restrictions on your buying yarn, - just put a lock on the door- said Sneaky Pete- lol)
DH and I just divvied up jobs for dinner prep tomorrow. I am on tater peeling too. And on Apple baking.

Thank you...I am relieved. She's actually returned clothes of the boys that ended up there today and yesterday. ...and she didn't hang around like she normally does.
We just did our turkey dinner. Now relaxing and knitting. I'm attempting a owl cocoon for my sisters baby due in march. The pattern pic looks like :

Well, the power came back on 1/2hr ago. We were without power for over 5hrs last night. Most of our city was without power and so was a neighboring small town. The house got chilly. The wind was over 70/kph, currently 60/kph before wind gusts. Should check for damage in the daylight, but hoping not to find any. I kept saying to dh that it sounds like a bad summer storm except that it's not summer. I'm grateful that the power was restored before big brother got up for the day.
I forgot to mention that we are also thankful for our two different friends who arrived on our doorstep during the first hour of this power outage to check on us and offer help and water. One of these friends I do not see very often, but he clearly still thinks of us. He brought 2 pieces of pumpkin pie with him, too bad I'm not a fan of pumpkin pie.Last edited by Angela273; Mon, Oct 12th, 2015 at 07:53 AM.

Happy holiday Monday! Glad to be off even though I got up earlier then I would have for work. Think I'm still stuffed from last nights feast. Will have to go walking this morning while the sun is shining. Off to get laundry on the go then get dressed for a walk at the park. Have a great day everyone! Steak for dinner tonight since we took it out for Sat night and it has to be cooked.

Baby and I slept in until 10!!! She started cold symptoms again (spitting up, sneezing and coughing when laying flat). DH said his cold keeps resurfacing after he thinks he is getting better. 😑 At least we got some much needed rest!

What a beautiful day. Went to my moms and took my niece for a walk to let my mom tidy up while my sister was napping. ( this baby gets up all night long). Then came home and my honey made us egg salad sandwiches and we packed a bag with drinks and took a drive to our fav spot on Georgian Bay and sat on the rocks to eat lunch. Then drove the teen to a friends. Then finished cleaning out the garage. Lots of stuff posted for sale and free and the back of my vehicle loaded for donation drop off. Now a quick shower and steak dinner! Think a nice glass of wine is in order with the love of my life. Life is good
