Need everyone's help on this: As you know, I have a 1 yr old son. This kid needs to have social interaction beyond mommy, so I have been looking for a playgroup for him since it will be a few months before I put him into daycare.
I need advice:
1 - does anyone know of a good bilingual or anglophone playgroup on the West Island?
2 - does anyone know of a private or subsidized daycare on the West Island, Vaudreuil, Hudson, St-Lazare that has spots in the pouponiere open for January?
Need help badly! I have no clue where to start looking!
Thanks in advance everyone! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I know what you're going through. One of the reasons we moved out of Montreal was due being on a works visa we couldn't get a place.
Look at your local church, many of them have play-groups attached. And most don't care if you are not of thier denomination.
Also ask at local schools they often know of people who have garderies or do private day care.
Good luck.
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hi GeorgiaK, I think there is a general CPE phone number you can call. It will put your child on a general waiting list. You can request small size daycare or larger size setting (I prefer this one) it makes the child feel more like they are in a school atmosphere as opposed to the home daycare ones.
I searched on line for you, the number listed is 514-326-8008. Website for Montreal is: http://www.enfancefamille.org/ or try emailing at [email protected]
Hope this helps, they found several for my daughter, except it's been a while. They are very helpful, just ask them to keep you on the list, they will offer you $20 daycares and $7. Good luck!!!

I used the CPE in Pincourt called La Claire Fontaine. Didn't know much when I put my first in there but found out that it had a very high reputation and my experience with them confirmed it. If this one is on the list, I would strongly recommend it. Althought it's been 4 years, I doubt they changed much.

I used to have a friend that was part of the beaurepaire nursery group in beaconsfield. They were great. Also at about 2 1/2 they are eligible for the whiteside taylor preschool in baie d'urfe. They are amazing, I have my two kids there currently. You can look them up online and call for info!
