My four year old has been talking about this toy for months. It's the one thing he asked Santa for. It came with a hefty price tag at $209.99, which I knew I could not afford. So I waited and sure enough, got a great deal from Amazon.ca on Black Friday for $124.44.

Today, I was checking on the status of another order and noticed Yoda was listed at $84.99!!!!

I checked online to see if there was anything about Amazon.ca issuing price adjustments and saw that they do offer price adjustments but only within 7 days of delivery. My package was delivered 16 days ago. I decided, what the heck, I have nothing to lose, so I opened up a chat and explained the situation to the customer service representative. She was very friendly and polite and told me to give her a minute to look into this for me.

So she came back and said, "Thank you for your time and patience Melanie I have checked this and I see the price difference is $39.45. We usually do price match within 7 days after the estimated delivery date. In this case, its been more than 7 business days."

I said, "Oh that's too bad, so I'll have to do a return then?" (Because even though it's a pain in the bum they offer free returns and $40 is $40!)

And she said, "No Melanie , as one time exception I am getting the price match done for you, however as per the policy its only done in 7 business days. I have issued the refund of $44.58 including taxes to your original payment mode, the amount should be credited to your account in next 2-3 business days."

Best customer service experience I've ever had!

That's wonderful. I also would have done the pain of a return to save $40. So great that they saved you the hassle!

That's awesome! One lucky kid is sure to be super happy on Christmas! For $40, I would have done a return and re-buy too. Good thing your Amazon CS rep saved you the hassle. Great brag!

DH and I are going to see it first before deciding if he's going to watch it. He's only seen the original three movies. I thought the newer ones might be a bit too scary for him.

Today in Toronto, there is a Star Wars movie marathon. They are showing all movies. There is a 10 minute break between each movie.

I think the reason they did it is because you said you were going to do the same thing I would have done. Returned the original (for free) and re-purchased the cheaper one. haha. I've done that at Walmart when its been over the 14 day price adjustment period.
