I had to put my little cat Witchhazel to sleep today. She has been going downhill for along time and last night, I could just tell it was time. As she was cuddling with me, she was struggling to even purr. Now I only have her brother left from a litter of 4 . And he is starting to have problems as well.

aw poor sweet Witchhazel!! I love the splotch mark she has on her nose!! @wolfwoman you have certainly had your fair share of grieving over lost furbabies. I do respect that you have chosen to end her suffering, that takes courage to let them go. I hope her brother gets a new shot of energy and is spared the same fate. (((hugs)))

She was 14 years old and 1 of 4 kittens born in my garage. The vet said it was time for her to go. Far too thin, difficulty breathing, an effort to purr. And it turns out she had advanced breast cancer as well. She is wrapped in a soft baby receiving blanket and in our freezer waiting to be buried once the ground dries out.

Sorry to hear that. Pets are so much family that we grieve the loss that only pet owners can really understand. Hugs.....
