It's been very hot around here. Did not feel like cooking. Plus using the stove = more hydro money for the Liberal government. Oh, no!
    Solution:
Cash in PC Plus points, 20,000= $20 to buy 2 x $10 PC gift cards
Bought: 2 x half chicken, barbeque, reg. $5.99, 50% off pink sticker price= $3.00 each
Bought: 2 x hot rice pilaf, medium tray, reg. $6.00, 50% off pink sticker price = $3.00 each
    Total = $6.00 plus tax
Used 1 x $10 PC gift card, and had money left on it
have the other $10 PC gift card to use later

    Very "cool".

Which Loblaws banner store have cooked chicken that gets stickered 30% off? Our local Fortinos has roasted chicken & fried wings, but they never discount them, not even close to closing time.

Same here, rockco - I think most stores turn them into chicken pot pies, chicken salad, sandwiches, etc.

My independent still sells everything at 50% off, I always get great deals, usually the next day first thing in the morning!!

Yes. Some banners sell hot deli products discounted same day, throughout the day or cold the next day.
I have also seen Sobeys and Metro discount deli chicken, sandwiches and single serve desserts (like slices of pie). Not just Loblaws, but also Valu-mart, RCSS, and even Food Basics that have the hot deli section.

The deli manager or store manager makes the decision.

    Great deal!
Usually here Loblaws & RCSS discount after 8:30PM but Loblaws is much better (or worse depending on your perspective) at removing heavily discounted items by noon the next day.

@Shwa Girl another fantastic decision made because of the weather! hee hee. I agree it was just too hot to put the oven on ( sadly I did though to make a huge roast pan of ribs ) but I applaud you searching out those discounted prepared meals.....must have tasted extra yummy!!

    those ribs sound yummy

yes, at 50% off, it seems to taste better

did it again today: breaded cooked haddock fish from the deli counter plus sweet potato fries and then tempted by slices of red velvet cake from the bakery
    all 50% off
