Oh.. @Skippy...did I answer your question about my role with our group? We're called Rising Stars, and we're sponsored and supported by our local Health Unit and Seniors' Centre...I'm the moderator. I introduce our group, do a preliminary introduction to each of 4 skits, and a conclusion to each, also, then thanking our audience at the end. I know they want me to do some acting, but I'm just not prepared to do that...so far. I like what I do now..:) The topics are serious for seniors, but there's a lot of humour in the skits which, by the giggles and applause, our seniors can sure identify with! :)
Well, @danger_dan I think you're not supposed to say "Happy Mother's Day" anymore--well according to the TDSB I guess. Anyone read about the sign in front of the school that the kids thought up which said, “Life does not come with a manual. It comes with a mom.”

I know it's Toronto stuff, but still crazy to me. We'll be celebrating the mums in our family on Sunday with one mum (me) cooking and getting my mum's garden beds spruced up.
@alex78 I also read about that story and the hullabaloo over the sign. I cannot imagine it was intended to offend families with no actual Mom figure. Seemed to be a little bit of a play on words to me, meant to tell the students to respect and listen to Mom to guide them through life. ( I think? ) . Can't please everyone I suppose.
