Sure that's far - I was only an hour and a half away, but that was in the olden days - had no car, would go home by bus. No social media or cellphones, long distance phonecalls were expensive - so we wrote letters!Quote:

I know it's more expensive, but it's a good experience - you get to know some lifelong friends that way, that's what I found. My first two years I was in university residence on campus, my third year I was in a religious residence (much smaller) across the street from campus.
@Natalka she is going to be staying in Residence on campus for the first year and if later she wants to rent with friends it will be ok we are hoping this will make her be more out going . She will not be taking a car there her bus pass is included in her fees so she will have a means for transportation around .coming home she will have to take the Bus or my DH can pick her up sometime. She is a vegetarian and a very picky eater. She has a meal plan but she also will have access to a kitchen if she wants to cook something.

The pancake breakfast just finished up, the kids and their Dads have gone golfing so Jenny and I are relaxing indoors. It's dreary cloudy here but no rain thank goodness. We'll be celebrating our SIL's b'day with a bbq dinner later and all I have left to do is make the filling for his requested 'key' lime pie and wrap the corn cobs in non bpa cling wrap to nuke later.

Happy Canada day everyone. Keith Urban left Manitoba after his show there late last night. He's on his way to Timmins for Canada day. Supposed to be about 19,000 people there tonight. Gates opened at noon with some presentations for Canada day. Rumor is that Shania will bee here too but you know people and their rumors lol. :)
The chef for our festival was making breakfast for Keith Urban and his crew at 3am this morning. The organizers say so far the wind looks good for the fireworks for tonight.
