Good morning!!!
Oh, @22hicks , @Natalka ...what sweet little mice greetings this morning!!
A rather unusual day, my friend and her hubby are off on a Hawaiian cruise, so we have one of their doggies, a beautiful, handsome Papillon mix...what a gentleman! So sweet...and I think this is a holiday for him, too, away from his two other house-mates who are crazy, rangy! A zu and a Yorkie who love to playfight and bark a lot. So DH is off walking both Jenny and Thai (Tie) on another gorgeous day!!
I was watching the news last night, CNN, and boy, it just makes me so mad and confused as to why on earth the US can't get any supplies to those poor people on the US Virgin Islands!! One family walked for 3 hours for water!! I mean...they can drop bombs, why can't they drop water and food supplies to them?!! They're afraid for their lives because machette-wielding gangs are roaming around demanding what little they have!! I just don't understand human beings sometimes.....and governments most times!!
Well... off to do something constructive!
DD is leaving with 8 other friends for Costa Rica this weekend, so that's sad...for me, at least..thank goodness for texting!!
Have a wonderful day, everyone!!
In keeping with the 'theme' so far...:)

Oh Lynn, you will miss her- for how long are they going?
That little doggie sounds like a sweetheart.
Took my BrotherR for some blood work this morning and we had some breakfast/ lunch at a great little family restaurant called "A Fish Called Wanda." specializing in fish and all day breakfast. We had a good chat with the owner who comes from a small town near here that I know well.
I got a video from my step-daughter of my "cute-as-a-button" grand-daughter. She was plucking away at a tiny Stevie-Ray Vaughan guitar replica that I had sent last week in the package of her Opa's things. And she was singing away to "Blackbird" from the Beatles. "You were only waiting for this "Noment" to arrive." It brought tears to my eyes. She's 26 months old and so precious!
I guess she learned the song from a scene in the Movie "Baby Boss." I guess I will have to watch it.
Tonight is the first rehearsal for our church choir. Looking forward to joining. I can't read music very well but if I hear the melody a couple of times, I can sing it.
Well folks, enjoy the rest of your day!
@avoncallingu, I'm so, so happy that you're getting out there and doing stuff for yourself again!! That choir is going to be very lucky to have you...I've heard you sing, remember!! So lucky!!
Your little Granddaughter sounds so precious; I hope you get to see her soon...any plans for hopping over to Denver?
And yes, I will miss my 'little girl' so much...we talk on the phone every day...well..you've met her, guess who does all the talking? hahaha!!! They'll be gone a week. :(
Well, our Son-in-Law came over today so that I could teach him how to hem their little guy's jeans...he has a brand new sewing maching and wants to learn how to hem our Grandson's pants. He did brilliantly! He's very meticulous and he's always in such good humour, it was a pleasure teaching him. He's now eyeing the length of their living-room drapes and planning to hem them a little higher. I may have created a monster! :) I watch that British show: The Great British Sewing Bee and there are always guys on there competing for the win and I particularly enjoyed the military guy who approaches it with such enthusiasm and who sews all his wife's gowns, dresses...lol...as does another fellow on there. I'm so addicted to that show! As I am with the Great British Bake-Off...which Canada is now copying and will be starting on CBC (I think) in November
Okay! Have a wonderful evening, everyone!! Isn't it so summery out there, lately? Finally our summers have arrived!!!
ha ha!! @avoncallingu your sweet grand daughter sounds like a true rocker! I just love it when toddlers mispronounce words.
ty to @dededi , @Newfiescreech and @Natalka for your daily pics that keep me grinning.
I am so proud I did not get sucked back into CNN today....some days hours pass with all of their BREAKING NEWS!
I agree @Lynn49 what is up with no aid going to the US Virgin Islands??
That fear from the gangs is something not many of us can comprehend, hope the situation improves ASAP.
Another wonderful productive early a.m. for me today Managed to get both the Shepherd's Pie out of the oven and the spaghetti and meat sauce all cooked up before the Hydro rate changed at 7 a.m.
It is a silly little race I like to have with myself most days......incentive that gets me up and out of bed.
Time to relax, doggies had their 2nd walk and I need to have a meal soon.
I just hope @walkonby got a reasonable ratio of wonton to broth

Good evening every1.
Where is your DD staying in Costa Rica @Lynn49 ?
I just loved it there; it's like being in another world, esp. deep in the rain forrest.
I know you'll miss her, but if she does any of the eco tours, it'll be a trip to remember.
Lucky girl.
When I went down, we (a group of volunteers, and animal staff from the Toronto Zoo) stayed @ a Biological Research Station, and were very involved in fauna counts, explorations, and were granted access to areas not open to the public. e.g. to the top of the active volcano, to collect samples, measure air quality, and the rise of lava, etc.
Truly, the experience of a lifetime.
C.O.T.E.R.C. for short.
