I remember reading that 'Discipline is just another muscle'. You build it with use and exercise; it does not magically appear. It strengthens and grows just as easily as it atrophies and fades with neglect.
The discipline I gain from simple mundane chores like exercise are taken with me to other more challenging aspects of life.

30 min strength class again today. Got it done, showered, had green smoothie and ready for dinner.
-
30 min hill walk with dh yesterday. Simple as we were busy most of the day.
-
Busy day yesterday but managed to get my 30 min run done.
The weather has been yucky here for the last week or so. Overcast, wet and cold. The 3 things I hate so it’s harder to be motivated to get going but I do feel better and accomplished after. We shall see what todays workout brings.
-
A simple 20 min hill walk was all I could manage but I still showed up for me. Hoping to be able to do more today after work.
-
shoveled path and part of path on the driveway and cleared ALL the stuff from the vehicle. I had the vehicle running as I shoveled so it was ready for the guys ( thawed out ) to take to work.

Decided to take the 5 day split strength training program again :eek:. Guess I love punishment! Tonight was 30 min chest and triceps. I will be feeling those in the morning!
-
Day 2 - back, biceps and legs which means split and frontal weighted squats :eek:. Hard after a long physical day at work but it’s done and I feel accomplished.
-
Day 3 -Upper body push. 30 min of overhead presses, tricep kickbacks, skull crushers, pushups (which I still hate and struggle with but do it….. kinda)
Tomorrow is a rest day so I’ll do cardio and run.

45min walk early in the sunshine and then just completed a 5km tread run. I was about 1 min slower than my best time but that’s ok since I wasn’t intending to run that far. My legs felt heavy and I wasn’t totally feeling it so I’m happy with my effort and even my time.
Time for some tart cherry juice, a small dinner, shower and off to bed before I do it all again tomorrow.
-
so run, rinse, repeat then
@harbie
? You are stellar!!

Yup
@walkonby
. I found something that makes my anxiety more manageable sometimes and it’s good for me, go figure :cheesygrin:
Did a 007 themed full body stretch followed by a 30 min upper body pull workout that included core :evil: and ended with a just over 3 km hill run. What was I thinking about that run?!:bawling:

Last day of my 5 day split strength program. It’s still tough but I see vast improvements in certain movements. My split squats, and my reverse weighted lunges are getting so much easier and I can go deeper. The recovery is so much better too.
No cardio tonight so I’ll save that for tomorrow.

I started a beginner yoga program and did 2 classes yesterday after work. I felt so much better after doing it. Beautifully stretched and limber.
