Still grief eating and drinking. But I am back to my 12000 steps a day. I did go to Weight Watchers just to get weight last Friday I was up 2.2 pounds. This week was much better so I suspect no gain and even a loss.
Great job on the loss @walkonby . Sometimes it's nice to be a loserFriends don't let real friends pay full price.

We spent several hours outside today. We walked to the park this morning. Late this afternoon I used a shovel to remove grass that was growing over top of our driveway, on both sides. I’m feeling it some now. I’m trying to make sure that I don’t fill up our garbage can too much.

Been trying to have better meals for the last 3 days. For lunch today I had 1 grilled cheese made in the air fryer. With cucumber slices, grapes and strawberries. Dinner will be a chicken wrap with carrot sticks and cucumber slices. Been having 1 snack a day of frozen grapes, carrots sticks etc. I know grilled cheese isn't the best meal but having 1 is good for me. Better than me usually having 3 and no veggies.

Here's my dinner lol. Just showing because I hope my portions are good. Chicken wrap with carrot sticks and dip plus some strawberries. Full ddp yoga starts Tuesday morning. My knees aren't feeling too bad but still a bit of pain.

Hi ladies I want to join in on this thread because I'm all about the health and fitness!
As per OP, she's right - exercise TONES you, but if you want to lose weight, you can't exercise and eat like sh*t... you need to eat well. You can EAT WELL and NOT work out, and lose a TON of weight!!
Here are some tips and tricks I've learned along the way:
1) Water FIRST. Always. You should be drinking your body weight DIVIDED BY TWO, in ounces.
For example, if you weight 150 pounds:
150/2=75
So someone who weights 150 pounds should be drinking 75 oz of water PER DAY!
2) Veggies MOST. You should be eating more veggies than anything else. I currently eat 5 cups of veggies per day based on my weight.
If you'd like me to figure out how much veggies you need to be consuming per day, I'd be thrilled to help I am working toward my certification in this!
3) Mindset. Yep. Fix your relationship with food. Your mind is a powerful thing. I have spent years figuring out how to do this. Ilana Muhlstein did too, and she actually just released her secrets on how we can follow her blueprint for creating a healthy relationship with food so that we can lose weight properly and permanently.
4) Support. Surrounding yourself with people who CARE about you, and who are striving for the same things as you, makes all the difference when it comes to staying on course, or falling off the wagon. It wasn't until I started my accountability group on Facebook that I stopped falling off the wagon. It's a group of women from around the world who support and encourage each other with health and fitness. We need to surround ourselves with people who can call us out, check on us, encourage us, and who are going through the same struggles as us.
Anyway, just wanted to chime in so that I can follow this thread and also be edifying to the group! Love you all!

Hope everyone had a great week with making healthy food choices and getting some exercise.
I plan on getting lots of house work done so will be moving lots! No gym for me this weekend. Will start tonight with getting laundry on the go and putting it all way. Sometimes a 2 story house with laundry in the basement is good for making you move .
I am cleaning out some kitchen cupboards too and know I have bad stuff to toss. We haven't been eating it and I should have donated what I could to the foodbank but I know it's too late. Lesson learned.
Sunday I will prep good healthy food for the week.
Have a fantastic weekend!

I completed 26 mins of the 30 min ddp yoga stand up. I stopped a bit short because I was having a hard time catching my breath. I will continue with the ddp yoga on Monday morning and do it Mon, Wed and Fri. I was kinda wobbly and I know it will take a few weeks for me not to be so wobbly lol. It was doing something though as my heart rate was 148 and I was sweating like crazy.

I grabbed healthy groceries on the weekend. Boiled eggs. Lots of easy snack ideas. Cooked variety of meat for the kids for quick dinner ideas for them since we are on the go this week.
Breakfast, lunch and snacks brought to work today.
Have a great week everyone!

good afternoon " new beginning gang! "
Welcome @Bronwen I liked what you said about the water and the relationship with the food being front and centre.
No amount of working out can be of benefit if you eat poorly.
Congrats to you @cabmonk for continuing on with your ddp yoga workouts and combining that with better choices at mealtimes, oh and btw that was nice that you got your Breakfast meal shakes for free redeeming AM.
@Frugalbigmama you have such energy PLUS! Your posts are very inspiring, even though I know a gym " scenario " is not in the cards for me atm. Probably never, but maybe I may be able to get back to lane swimming again, I did enjoy that.
I am plugging along, staying on track with my gluten free, lactose free, smaller portions programme.
Each day I am conscious about avoiding most foods with sugar, salt and bad fats.
Nothing processed really.
Veggies are my best friend right now...raw or cooked, glad I like most of them. I know people who wince at eating any! lol
I only weigh myself once every 5 weeks and the next clinic visit is at the end of May...fingers crossed I will see another substantial weight loss.Last edited by walkonby; Mon, May 7th, 2018 at 01:14 PM.

@walkonby Thanks, did the ddp stand up this morning. My flexibility has been improving every day. I haven't been able to pull my leg up like this in years. In a couple weeks I hope I can start doing the harder workouts.

It took a bit of digging, but I found this thread again.
I just found out yesterday that I was approved for a newer and expensive migraine treatment. I have an appointment with my neurologist this Saturday. Here’s hoping that it will get rid of this 4 month migraine and do a great job of preventing new ones. Even with coverage it is expensive and requires a 5hr round trip to see my specialist every 3 months. If it works, it will be worth it.
I’m still trying to be conscious of what I’m eating. I know that I’m probably the one in our household who eats the most veggies. I drink water all day long and even sleep with a water bottle next to my bed. All of our children have their own water bottles and drink milk with meals and snacks. I’m in charge of the shopping and meal planning too.
I’ve been working in the yard and garden a fair bit. I overdid it on Sunday when we dug up, divided, and replanted my red rhubarb plant. Now I have a row with three small red rhubarb plants. I’m also working on levelling out the back yard some. We plan on putting soil in the low areas a bit at a time, this way the grass can grow through it and it shouldn’t become a large and expensive project. I was very sure on Monday.
Last night Dh took our son to soccer tonight. While there, he learned that the sponsoring Tim Horton’s location will give the kids in uniform a free small milk and timbit...so they had a short coffee break on their way home. I took our twins for a long walk to the high school and back. Whenever I collect bottles in that school parking lot I get a lot. Tonight’s walk resulted in 3 grocery bags full for SARCAN. I figure at least $5 worth.
Tonight is soccer night with our twins again.Last edited by Angela273; Wed, May 9th, 2018 at 08:43 AM.
