Catty Work Place?

Do you have a catty work place?
I find lately the cattiness and gossip at my work place is getting worse and worse. It mainly consists of female workers and the claws are out!

I get tired of hearing the newest dirt on so and so, and whos trying to get who in trouble. I even think somehow I got drug in to be this weeks topic ( no idea why, or care)

Do you have a work place like this and how do you deal with it.

Yes I get tired too of it. I think just about every workplace has some sort of gossip going on. They only way to stop it is to just ignore it... but people will be people and I am sure there will always be gossip whether it is at work or not. It seems to me some just LOVE drama.

Hi, there is alot of gossip where I work, but I have learned to ignore it. When people come in and complain I remind them that it is there choice to be there,( I work and manage an organization/club) and remind them that it is my job, my income, what supports my family, and that I just will not get involved.

My least favorite phrase in the world is "the workplace". I don't mind work, it's just workplaces that spoil it all. I work at home now.

I would say almost every work place with a number of staff will be like that, some worse than others, it only takes a couple of bad gossipers.
I found the simple way, keep your private life private, avoid hanging around the worst gossipers, and when asked for an opinion...say nothing...just shrug your shoulders.

Of course, there is the real extreme, every time someone tells you something about someone else, immediately go tell that person who and what was just said about them, VERY quickly you will be left out of the gossip loop.

I understand.My workplace is the same.I try not to get upset but I do. I try not to get involved,but sometimes I open my big mouth.

All it takes is one bad apple to get it going! I feel sorry for people that are so bored at work that they just gossip and complain. If they were busy..they wouldn't have time to be so unproductive and mean. I feel bad for anyone going into a workplace on a daily basis and having to deal with that

Dar works with a couple that are so busy yakking all day long that others hate having to work near them, they are so annoying that they give you a headache.
Of course, for some reason they are some of the least productive people there.

I think pretty much every work place is like this at some point, all the catty girls at my work have left, so theres just me and a few new employees.

I find women are pretty nasty to each other in general, I really hate it.
