Save-On-Foods said it had no involvement in the price-fixing scheme but is offering a $25 rebate to members of its customer loyalty program since they “could have been impacted with higher bread prices.”
“It is important for you to know that we at Save-On-Foods had no knowledge of, nor were we involved in, this illegal activity,” the letter said.
The letter went on to say the company “will seek compensation from the bread suppliers involved, in due course.”
Save-On-Foods president Darrell Jones said the credit is a goodwill gesture to customers.
“It’s our way of saying, ‘Look, maybe you were wrapped up in part of this price-fixing.’ We want to make sure that our customers [are made] whole.”
Eligible customers can register for $25 rebate on the More Rewards website.
Save-On-Foods has stores in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Yukon.
* Offer available to customers over the age of majority who were More Rewards members prior to December 31, 2017 and purchased commercial bread at Save-On-Foods sometime in the past 14 years. One offer per household. Offer not available for duplicate More Rewards accounts. The offer will not be available for use for tobacco, alcohol, prescriptions or lottery products.

You had to have been a member as of the end of last year.
We just got this store in our city last year, and it's very far from me, so I haven't shopped there, so didn't sign up for their rewards program.
But, wow, talk about getting their PR machine in gear!

I received an email from Save on Foods today, with a link in to credit $25 to my More Rewards card. The way it works is when you spend $25 or more (before tax), when you scan your More Rewards card the $25 credit is deducted from the bill. You just pay the amount over $25 and the tax (if applicable)

Yup got my $25 credit about 24 hours after applying for it and using it in store was a snap. Cudoos to Save On Foods for the simplicity and flawless execution of this rebate for their customers... unlike Loblaws where we are all still waiting. ...and waiting....

So do I need to inform the clerk I'd like to use the credit or is it automatic?

I think it came off my total automatically, but if yours does not, just tell the clerk you want to use it.

Anyone else have issues redeeming it?
Mine was loaded(got the confirmation) but cashier said it wasn't working. CS said the same thing and I was told to contact Save on directly. They just told me to use my card or app and that it was indeed loaded. I'm hoping it works today......

Thanks. I used it today through self check out. At first I thought it didn't work because it didn't automatically deduct the $25 right away. I had to wait a few seconds.
