Both HBC & Shell ones were up for a few seconds. Then they were gone again when I refreshed the website. Hopefully AM is in the process of restoring them.

Oh dear. I have been saving dilligently for the Best Western Giftcards. We are going to Disneyland this year and I wanted to have a bunch in hand to lower my OOP cost for this trip. I had planned on getting the GC's closer to the date we were leaving . I hope they bring the GC's back. I have been saving for 2 years now. Feel disappointed.

Keep checking, the gift cards will hopefully come back when they get more stock. Also, in general don't wait before redeeming. The BW gift cards don't expire (at least according to their current terms) so as soon as you save enough airmiles go ahead and redeem for the gift cards. That way you have them in hand. Until then all you have is a potential reward which could evaporate overnight. The way Airmiles has been going I wouldn't expect the BW gift cards to get any cheaper -- if anything they'll require more airmiles and or disappear altogether.

You only need to save 750 airmiles for a $100 gift card and shipping is free so just redeem for one card and then save up again for the next one. Remember: A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Put another way, a $100 best western gift card that you HAVE is worth more than the 750 airmiles sitting in your airmiles account, let alone any potentially more valuable rewards they might offer in future (unlikely).

I thought I'd have enough for a BW $150 travel card after this month but I don't see it on the page. I wonder if it will come back and if so, will we need more air miles to get it?

Most Shell stations sell HBC gift cards. Even though these Shell certificates are supposed to be for fuel only. But some of the stations I go to would allow me to buy anything using them. I have purchsed lottery tickets, food, etc. using them.

On the Shell website, it does say the following:
'These fuel certificates can be redeemed at any Shell, Turbo, Payless or Beaver sites across Canada for fuel and in-store purchases (excluding alcohol and tobacco products).'

But on the AM site, it says:
'A new and exciting offer from Shell --- now you can use AIR MILES to pay for your fuel purchases at Shell!'

It says on the certificate:
'Valid for $20 of fuel at any participating Shell, Turbo, Beaver, or Payless locations in Canada.'
