With the predicted rise in 2022 food prices, is anyone making a conscious decision to stock up heavily on groceries before the end of the year?
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

I havent gotten groceries in a good 2 weeks (only 2 of us) just buying fresh fruit or veggies in between .

Finally feeling better from my cold last tues so i will be taking back the perfume i bought daughter to save $11.30 as i bought it friday for 20% and it was delivered sat (fastest online yet from sephora)

I will be looking for sales in and stocking up a bit but i love the bread at dollarama or dollar tree yes it is 1.50-2.50 each loaf.

We had our grandson over last night as my daughter is in new york for work,so he was a joy we coloured and played trouble, played with playdoh -he beat me twice. We took hime to a playground for about 20 minutes .His dad just picked him up and i gave him 3 bananas for his lunch because shoppers only sells a larger bunch ,so i figured share .sent him on his way with a teenage mutant ninja turtles colouring book he left here in the summer also.

I'm not panic buying but I'm buying a bit more of stuff we normally use when it's on sale for a good price. We are discussing getting a small chest Freezer since our fridge freezer is kind of useless storing any more than a weeks worth of frozen food.

i am going to say .... no ... but yess.....
No... i am not doing anything extra.... however.... this is where the yes comes in..
precovid.. i did a huge stock... and moved my pantry to higher levels of stock... it served me well.. i had planned on moving it to a lower more realistic level of stock... i am not. but having it at a higher level.. it means i can wait out sales.. and stock up big time when i find a sale. i

i like my pantry.. i will never be a .. use everything up kinda girl... i rotate stock well, i plan meals from the pantry but whats on sale... ect... if it means we eat alot of rice meals because pasta is outradgous .. well guess what.. we like rice...

yes.. vegitarians add cost to the grocery bill. toddlers... tend to eat alot of fresh fruits and veggies. ... My guys ... eat 3 veggies at lunch.. with 3 veggies offered they can always find 2 they eat. and if you give a good solid start on a variety of fruits and veggies when they are little... they are way more open to explore a variety of fruits and veggies as they get older .
i truely believe this, and you can see why i am not in the least willing to comprise with it.

that being said.. it also gives me alot of flexiblity... strawberries.... seriously so expensive and small pkgs now... so guess what... i am buying those blueberries é raspberries and blackberries that i price matched for a great deal

Yes with the grocery price going up . We all have to try and look for great sales. On SC we are always sharing our deals. Guess we need more members to do so no matter how little it is.

I find groceries are more expensive when you have vegetarian in the family . Also buying fresh is costly. So let’s keep on sharing the deals

I find eating Vegetarian cheap. But I don't buy the process "fake" looks like meat stuff so maybe that's why? That stuff is expensive/rip off and I don't like the texture/taste. My guy would eat the fake meatballs with pasta dinner I would rather have none then them lol. They are horrible to me. (and also the ingredient list is huge and I would rather eat real food)

We did the same as @Giseledta, we increased our pantry with the pandemic. We had started to let it go back to pre pandemic levels but with the supply chain issues and discussions of grocery prices increase we are staying at the higher level.

Generally January and February have always been my lower spend months for groceries. I believe it was 2019 in January I only spent $12 on groceries and more than half of that was milk.

There were a couple things we bought a little more of but only as we have seen our usage go up:
    Flour
    Olive Oil
    Chicken

I do watch the flyers a little closer and if I see something we need I make sure to get it as the sales are not coming as often. It is not like years past if you missed Diced Tomatoes this week at store X it would be on sale at store Z next week.

Got a few things done today, not as much as I would have liked but that is life. I had one of those days were I thought oh that won't take me long, maybe 30 minutes but then it really took 1 1/2 hours.

Marshmallows are in the dehydrator, they are almost done.
Cut up a Butternut Squash we need to use this week
Cut up some sweet potatoes that need to be used up, most have been turned into Garlic Parm Sweet Potato Chips but a few I just cooked off and will turn into mashed sweet potatoes
Clean our produce bin to get the new produce we picked up this week, lost 1 lemon & 1 lime
Took out some random garbage, our dead kettle, some packaging from Christmas Presents I bought
Tidied up the kitchen a little, just had random stuff all over the place that did not make it to it's home

Dinner is lazy lasagna, I knew we had one package of pasta sauce left in the freezer but I needed 2, I thought maybe there was 2 and turns out there was.

I have one work thing I need to get out and then I am done for the night.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday

Love shopping online for grandkids at old navy /gap -buying clothing to put away for next year .
Great prices too top for sebastian 4.03 summer dress for ashlyn 3.48 old navy ,leggings for ashlyn 6.75 and nice gap socks for hubby 4.49-oh and a "nasa" purple shirt $7.65 for ashlyn as she loves anything space =$28

I cant beat those prices and this is how i am being frugal with clothes shopping for the grandkids, then im just hang in a spare closet til they are gifts for them.

    Plus 4% back rakuetan
