Yesterday i asked hubby to help me with 4 totes to take to Once upon a Child .I got $44.45 for daughter-in-law and $72.50 for daughter from the grandkids clothing and a few toys .It was so busy for a sunday too ,it tells me times are tighter when more people are taking clothing in for them to buy and buying clothing there also .

Just trying to relax ,i get to pick up my prescription tonight after waiting 4 days . Picking up the girls from their bus today.

Hubby had to get a new muffler and tailpipe ,good thing i saved $350 last month in my savings .

@ Sassyashley- I was feeling off yesterday afternoon. I did running around in the morning and then came home and ate lunch. Then I just started not feeling well. Tried napping but I can't sleep during the day. Finally after 5 I made myself get up and was feeling better.

So all the stuff I wanted to get done yesterday I did this morning. Laundry on the go. Kitchen clean. Going to clean washrooms now and then I can put the garbage bag to the garage and have a fresh clean garbage can in the kitchen.

My oldest is stopping by to grab stuff so I offered to make him a lunch to take with him. Of course he said yes lol Doesn't matter how old they are you always want to help them out to make their day better.

My kitchen is spotless. All clean laundry is folded and in baskets. The last load I washed - that stuff is hanging to dry (my yoga pants, socks and undies)
    Dining room is clean.
That's all the house stuff I'm doing today. It's Monday. I don't want to get too wild.

Sunday was a very busy day. I used $65.00 of my CT money to buy some of the vegetables and flowers, then spent a few hours doing the pots, it makes the yard look great. I will need to plant the annuals in the flower beds but I am going to wait a few days for that.
Groceries were cheap only because it was just produces and dairy. No meat or stuff for the pantry. I am working on the menu plan trying to use what's on hand as April was a very spendy month and the credit is double what is typically much of that is anew mattress but with the skyrocketing price of everything I am really trying to fend new ways to be frugal and I feel like we were already expert level in this chat.

MOm bought an nearly normal size watermelon during the weekend. I've gotten into half of it-so juicy and refreshing during the humid trio of days!

Hmm, quite a couple of weeks. I keep checking the weather forecast and plan stuff around avoiding hot or super-wet weather. Today, I used my last bus fare to cash in some beer store empties, visit Rexall (not going back again but I had a look around given it's been about 9mo since last visit to that location) then head to the library. $1.20 refund plus I spotted a quarter on the floor of the Mohawk bus into the Meadowlands so I collected the coin upon my exit.
Road closure alert-The Linc Parkway will be closed in both directions from May 25-30 next week. Alternate route is the city limited 50kph road Stonechurch. Do your mall stuff soon and take the parkway closure time as hint to walk/bike/bus instead. Ancaster has a couple of construction works in play that add to travel time...

Bro finally (13 months of asking) cleared the house's eaves after today's hard rain--where waterfall over the front door revealed the leaves collected there (yesterday a bluejay in the morning gave impression a squirrel was lobbing golf balls at the foundation until I looked out the front door and saw the jay pecking at one end of the eave (probably bugs or the spores from spruce trees-seems to be a bluejay thing). I gathered some items for a trash bag that need to go and I have to see how to deal with cracks in the cellar as three sizes of ants have visited my room since April. AM not amused esp. when one dropped on me last night while up in bed.

Early morning risings-usually mean running a couple loads of laundry. Having a hard time with snacking and breakfasts-anything snackworthy (fruit, sweets, purchased treats) get eaten pretty darn quickly. Will stop at Fortinos on the way home for a couple of things as I'm out of cereal and sliced bread.

Last week's May Moneysaver ad booklet contained 2 Purina dog food coupons. Will post about them in the Coupon thread. My Notice of Assessment also came in the mail-I have been daydreaming how to spend my July GST, OTB lump sum and 1/2 CAI benefit-visions of smartphone with wireless service and data but how pricey are phones, clothing spree and thrift store/consignment furniture spree! Best deal seems 7-11's Speakout phone and plans. Nowhere near a 7-11 so that would be a trek and bus trip. Youtube video mentioned 5 budget smartphones but two of them seem well over $500 each for the phones. Yowsa.

I was looking at the April 18 changes to CIBC's personal accounts and wow, my chequing account that I got 6 days prior to changes is no longer offered. Seems all the former chequing accounts are now Smart Accounts with higher monthly fee but some e-transfers are included. I have been expecting a mailed bank statement but the book indicates $2.25 per mailing so that's why I'd like a phone to get the paperless ones I can then print off at the library. RBC wants me to update my account alerts via e-mail before June. I don't even know if my debit card is close to expiring as I last used it in Oct 2020 to pay Mom's cc bill at the ATM. I fed my account $20 today to ensure if I get the statement fee via CIBC, there's money left over for the May fee and maybe one small shopping purchase.

Ontario party leaders' debate is underway now on some tv stations. I'll look for the Youtube video later because now I'm steamed enough to want to vote for a change in representation. Still waiting on the voting card in the mail...

I am so frustrated right now..we lost the power for 6 hours the reason hydro quebec tell us with that..it was the fault of a jerk who desinstalled the disjonctor break..wow not impressed...hope it is not someone from the building who did that..per chance at least the electric pannel is locked... so hydro quebec had to call the coop to have the permission to reput it in place...so fees for them and possibly an investigation...per chance we are in spring not winter...oup^s maybe that belongs in the rant section sorry...

DH took our 21 year old truck in for a new exhaust system (first since purchasing it new in 2001) and we only needed a new muffler! Instead of a $600+ bill it was "only" $260!!!

@Ciel21 did you check PC, I know a former co-worker who swore by their plans.

Or to keep the cost of the phone down you may be able to to purchase a used phone and then just have to choose a plan from the supplier of choice.

@cath007 I believe there is a kitty litter shortage, my bro has mentioned they are having issues getting kitty litter and apparently there one cat if quite picky about her litter. He bought what he could get but was worried she may not like it and may not use the litter box.

Don't get me wrong, I am loving this cooler weather but it also feels so weird. Yesterday I was in Capris and a t-shirt sweating doing the littlest things around the house. Today I had to change into something warmer, I had on legging and a t-shirt but had to go put on a long sleeve shirt.

I did not get all the things done today. I had an amazing morning, knocking out both work and home stuff but this afternoon I slowed down a little bit.

Laundry is done, towels are put away just need to put away clothing before bed.

Sorted a package of mushrooms, we lost a few, this pack went bad quickly, but I actually thought we would lose more so I am happy. Half that were left were using in the lasagna, not sure about the other half. I was going to sauté them up with onions, peppers and chickens for lunch this week but now we have leftover lasagna for lunches.

Looks like I should get my car back tomorrow, Dad emailed that more than likely bro will bring me my car and take step-mom's.

Before bed I will update my to-do-lists, cross off what I got done and add the things floating around in my head. I find putting it on paper gets it out of my head so I do not think about it instead of sleeping. Trying really hard to get back on track, just feels like there is so much to get done and I do not see things calming down.
