Frugal question: which would you choose?
Cineplex on Saturday, The Polar Express (Christmas movie), $2.99
or
On TV Friday night, Elf (Christmas movie), $0.00

Not necessarily from a $$$ standpoint but from a preference standpoint, 100% Elf. Nothing against Polar Express if it is on I will watch it but given the choice I am choosing Elf.

Good Morning Everyone,
Up and working away but it is a bit of a slower. Last night after we had dinner all of a sudden I started to feel awful, it was close to bed time so I just went to bed with hopes of sleeping it off. I do feel better this morning but I have that after being sick feeling.
So far no bad weather here it is fine, no need for bad weather. Still do not think I will head out tonight to do shopping. I just want to get through my work day and relax.
Need to figure out dinner for tonight, I am feeling okay today but still think just to be safe I will choose something lighter and tummy friendly.

Making a mess of today's posts along with other messes of the day but that's okay cuz it happens to us roos who sometime's forget to look before leaping(in the case posting that CBC would have them all-I blame the commercial I saw about it!).
Anyhow Food Basics seems to be first out of the block for Butterball Turkey @ only $1.98/lb. DW went yesterday and picked one up for family get together and then Christmas Day meal distribution.I also scored some Gingerbread Men Cookies for being a good patient(right!) for the sake of tradition.Certainly not too early to shop as at one of our Dollarama stores overheard them say that the last of the Christmas candy is out!
Have a wonderful weekend my friends and drive accordingly to the weather!Last edited by Skippy; Fri, Dec 1st, 2023 at 11:45 AM.

Good morning all.
I’m off today as today's work had been mocked to Sunday since my client is moving. It’s weird not working on a Friday but weirder to have to plan for a Sunday. I never work Sunday’s and only a Saturday once or twice a year.
I’m a bit sore from yesterday’s strength training AMRAP ( as many reps as possible) which I pushed myself to lift until failure. But it’s a good sore and really not that bad.
I’ve managed to make the bed, clean the kitchen and get some groceries all done by 9:30 am this morning.
Grabbed some stuff at NF as soon as they opened. Spent $87 and change on the GC and received 11,800 points back. Sent in a missing points request for another 2400 so I’ll get 14,200 back when it’s all said and done.
I was surprised by the 10,000 I got for spending continuously $100 ( I think that’s what the receipt said). It must have been because the lady in front of me asked if I had a points card and ask if I wanted to scan it for her order since she didn’t have one.Happily I obliged. That you lady from NF
I have to prep some meals tomorrow for Sunday after work otherwise I’ll be tempted to get takeout and I don’t want that.
Before that I’m going to tackle the bathroom shower, toilet, etc before I vacuum the whole place.

I would choose Polar Express and take my grownup sons. They were young when it came out and we saw it at the theatre.
I am exhausted. Thankfully the weather was nice today as DH and I spent 4 hours cleaning up the NS yard. It would have cost hundreds to pay someone to do it. So instead we flew out for 9 days. We were finally able to get the locksmith in so one more thing off the list. I hung Christmas lights outside and we put up a tree. We are lucky in the we have my brother close and good neighbours here so they watch the house for us. But decorating for Christmas helps it to look lived in.Last edited by lilo0003; Sat, Dec 2nd, 2023 at 05:41 PM.

Good Morning Everyone,
It looks like a snow globe outside right now. I think it started snowing just before I got up.
I know, I know it is winter in Canada but does not mean I have to like it. The older I get the more I have no use for snow.
I am trying to find my ambition to get moving and going today but honestly, I am just super overwhelmed, I feel like there are a million things I need to get done and I do not know where to start.
I really want to re-do our living as the layout and furniture is not working for us, sitting on the couch all day is making Mom's hip worse. But I feel like to clean up the living room, I need to clean up the basement so I can move stuff down there. But cleaning the basement is not going to be easy because most of what is down there is not mine so I cannot decide if it stays or goes.
I am also kind of tempted to spend the day in the kitchen, it has been a while since I had a good kitchen day.
I do also have some work to get done, our Regional Manager forgot to call me back and remember at like 5 to 5 and called me and gave me some answers to a few things I am working on. Now I need to get some emails out so staff have them Monday morning when they come in. Our Shutdown is super early this year and I have to be honest, it is messng with my schedule because now we have 2 weeks to get through inventory, get through the outages, do the yearly clean up on the system and send out the plans and schedules for January & February.
Alright, lots to get done, I need to find my ambition and get going.

Good morning.
Up at 4:30am again. Dh is getting up and working out first thing in the morning and I get up as moral support ( not a chance I’m working out THAT early!)
Dh has inventory today and the company is having a breakfast meetup but that restaurant only has coffee/tea, toast and fruit that he could eat so I made him a loaded breakfast at home.
Texmex tofu scramble with sourdough toast, herbed hash browns, chocolate chip and blueberry mini pancakes with a vanilla latte. Now he’s set until lunch and I’m wanting to go back to bed already.
I’m going to push my workout until later today. I’m doing a 3 for 31 challenge where you run, bike or walk for 3 miles or 30 minutes everyday in December including New Year’s Eve. I workout everyday anyways but I don’t always have the energy for a 30 min workout but I’m committing to that to close 2023.
I’m off to tidy the little mess left behind in the kitchen and then after finishing my tea I’m going to lay down.

Rainy day here and snow is coming. DHs company had a vendor event at a Christmas tree farm about 90 minutes from here, they had invited him to the Ontario one but when he said we would be in Nova Scotia we were added to this one. It was a nice drive to a part of the province we had not yet been too, stopped at a craft show along the way and bought a wreath for the back door and a few gifts.
