Here is a happy storey for everyone -i just reconnected on the phone last year with my cousin (age 75) who lives in Neveda ,U.S.A.I just started calling him recently to let him know my brother is back in m y life .My cousin had a picture of my dad his 2 brothers and my grandfather,so he sent it to my brothers cell phone .My brother had it done in to a 8x10 for me .
It is now hanging on my wall ,i have never seen my grandfather before .They are in suits also ,my dad looks so dapper as they would have said.I believe he is around age 18 before he went off to war .
Such an awesome memory keepsake ,see i am from a second marriage of my dear mom she had me at 38 and my brother at 40.We never got to have grandparents ,so we try to be the best ever to the 3 i have .Last edited by coupon girl; Tue, Apr 2nd, 2024 at 11:46 AM.

@coupon girl I loved the feel good story you shared. We're old school, having a ton more of hard copy ( actual prints ) of photos than are on the computer. What a beautiful memento you have of your Dad with his 2 brothers and their father. No frugal news for me today, so I'm just reading through the posts.

The winds have been whipping recycling contents all over the street today. Blue boxes have been moving if tipped over. First time I saw a lidded glass jar roll up over a lateral pipe onto our driveway. I did not put our box out due to winds and lack of contents. Even empty garbage cans are causing road hazards or sudden movements towards pedestrians and their dogs! Trees are leaving branches too-I was watching how the trees move during a high wind. I plan to improve spacing between trees by thinning out some branches and shortening more tree limbs. Too many branches are into other trees' spaces!
Just a day for cooked pasta, butter and taco seasoning and doughnuts. I'll wait to see if the winds drop by 7pm to do a laundry load but reading or napping seem like better ideas. Also more mugs of tea. Have not see our Canada Post delivery agent yet on rounds. I want mail and flyers.
Rakuten fans-check their 12% CB flash event-coupons apply to certain items. I was trying to fix a discrepancy between browsers' Favourites listings and paid attention when I saw 12% CB!"This is the Way." The Mandalorian

I am curious-do you resemble your father's father side of the family tree or your late mother's side? I do not look like my maternal grandparents (brother does share something with maternal grandfather face-wise) but I saw my grandfather as a young adult (from a copy of a very old photo about 13 years ago) and saw how his features were shared by Dad and at least 3 of his brothers and me! I have seen images of my maternal great-grandmother but never of her husband.

Freezer veggie scraps stand a chance to become broth tomorrow. Did not make the fruit cobbler today-put it off until Wednesday. I plan to be diverted in the morning with kitchen shenanigans.
Have goal to get a couple of gift items by next Wednesday so they get an opportunity to reach someone before retirement at month's end.
Time to find that M&M Food Market digital flyer..."This is the Way." The Mandalorian

Yes Ceil i noticed yesterday that the gap was 12% on rakutan .I spent $28.13 on 4 items (plus got free shipping as before total was over 70.00) at the gap 3 for grandkids and one for a up and coming baby(sons friend).I got back $3.22 from rakutan -nice .
Ceil-i believe my younger brother and i resemble my fathers side -my older half brother in london looks just like my dear mom (only male version)and my oldest half brother that passed 2 years ago looks like his dad .Thanks for asking .
I have to fast tonight ,blood work in the morning for me.Last edited by coupon girl; Tue, Apr 2nd, 2024 at 04:58 PM.

@Ciel21 I would contact Nivea about the new cap. Perhaps they can compensate you with free products?

Good Morning! Happy Hump day!
BRRR! What a cold windy wet damp day it looks like outside! Would like to go to GT to pick up a few boxes of burger patties for DS. Will have to wear a jacket for sure.
Looked over the sale flyers starting tomorrow and happy with the prices on fresh stuff. So glad I didn't grab a few peppers the other day. Wal-mart for the win!
I am going to grab a bunch and clean and slice them for the freezer. Then I can pull out quickly to make my fav veggie mix (Love Peppers/onions/mushrooms on the bbq or in a pan!)
Will make my oatmeal this morning- around 11am. Then I can use up the fresh blueberries since I know strawberries are available on sale tomorrow.
Pulled chicken drumsticks out of the freezer last night and have them in a bowl now with spices. Will pop them in the oven when I am in the kitchen this morning for DS. Trying to stay one step ahead to have food ready.
Stay safe today!

good morning @Frugalbigmama you read my mind! I was also adding those Belmont Burgers to my list! Along with a few deals from other stores.
On April 1st at WM I paid $2.71 for a single red bell pepper weighing about 9 1/2 ounces. Good grief! Tried choosing the smallest one, but. UGH.
It actually worked out hilarious because once at home I saw the cashier had neglected to scan my 3 pack of Romaine for $6.00. So a free pepper? ha ha
Yucky weather today....we are NOT impressed.

Ok DS cooked up a mess last night. But the kitchen is clean now.
Chicken is in the oven.
I may make a mac and cheese for the other but I don't want to be tempted to eat it! On this cold dreary day it sounds like a wonderful treat!
