I didn’t remember that I had a points offer on ground beef from Sobeys, but it showed up on my receipt. The family packs of lean ground beef had $8 off stickers on them, plus it’s 10% off Tuesday. I bought 4 trays of the meat for about $2.50/lb (after points earned). The points and 10% off were applied before the $8 sticker, so the meat works out to be an even better price than I had originally calculated at the store.
I used $40.95 in coupons
$10 Kraft instant rebate
Saved $15.29 from 10% Tuesday.
I also earned about 2,060pts in my purchases today.Last edited by Angela273; Tue, Jun 4th, 2024 at 06:33 PM.

Gardens are almost done. I can’t find kale so I may go with seeds and hope for the best. DS1 did an awesome job getting them ready and it’s almost all the stuff he likes as we leave in early July for another 9-10 weeks. He will also make sauces with any extra tomatoes so I won’t totally miss you on the home grown stuff.

Typed out a post this morning at 9:30am and then our power went out! 400 houses affected in my area and it came back on at 1230pm.
The funny thing is apparently our work system was down for the same amount of time and some people are still out!
Popped out to RCSS and bought 4x the CB cheese slices. DS is set for awhile.
Went downtown to the bank and did a deposit. Went to the Independent for their last day open. Bought wilton candles and muffin liners for .24 each.
Now I am starving! Off to the kitchen to see what I feel like

@harbie , I cannot remember if you are still on vacation but I saw a post on Instagram saying Hellman's Vegan is coming to Costco Canada. Not sure if it is in your local warehouse.

Ten minutes, it began to rumble and heavy rain followed a few minutes later. Bro said we did have an earlier rain but it must have happened during my nap.
This morning I did an early wash load (could not sleep) and put it outside after 7:30am. Some time later, I saw computer mention morning rain so went outside with iffy looking sky to bring laundry in. No rain. Sun even came back out. My body was not going to do a second trip to hang laundry again so everything is in the basement.
Have looked at the digital flyer for Giant Tiger tonight for tops and pants. I see one pair of pants I might like but will have to go the store location across from Eastgate Square to try sizes for fit. Striking out on tops but I am checking the store brands in case one line has a button up top I can use for summer. Totally missed the dark denim v-neck t-shirt from GT but my size is sold out online and instore. I have two similar tops from Marks, so no major loss.
Thursday seems like it will be grocery shopping day as well. My list of things that we are out of is getting rather long. Will check the various flyers as I did manage to get some Food Basic specials last Friday but forgot to get a certain special at Walmart when I was there on Monday night. But I got new garden gloves (thin foam though in the fingers) as I happened to go in the hardware aisle and remembered I still had not bought new gloves at Cdn Tire. The gloves have been used for yardwork twice so far. Happy for now.
I did not take the special local bus on Sunday. Kept putting off going out to the stop and then we got rain, so it was wise to just stay put.
Next week, the Heritage Days festival will be on and the 10K run will occur on Tuesday night. Expect some local traffic delays due to some road closures for the run."This is the Way." The Mandalorian

@HermanH Timing rep for choosing just the right time to go between stores!
I will venture into the local Fortinos just to see how busy it is, if there's a selection of reduced price items to spree on or not. Need to stock up on first aid product again plus I miss the cracked wheat sliced bread."This is the Way." The Mandalorian

Was walking through RCSS and saw a senior lady shopping. Every single item in her cart had a 30% discount sticker. I hope that it was by choice, but feel badly for her if she felt out of other options.

Good Morning! Looks like sunshine outside.
Our power went off again last night around 10pm. Thinking it was around 330am when it came back on.
So of course I was up early this morning. Load of towels in the wash. Work emails sent out. Sink of dishes soaking in hot soapy water.
Motivated to get it all my work done and a few house things before I crash
I heard DS making his work sandwich in the dark last night (by light of his phone flashlight) He has one fresh bun left for tomorrow so that worked out well.
Stocked him up on the Hellman's that was on sale at Walmart (I didn't realize it was on sale!) I had the $1 off coupon and thought the small one was $3.97 so bought him 2 (with the plan to reuse the squirt bottle filling from a larger jar) but they were on for $3.27 so $2.27 each after coupon. I went back in and bought 4 more since they had Dec 2024 date. One day I will try making it!
I had to get a new phone last month ( oh yeah the day our dog passed away...my phone died that afternoon-complete black screen)
So I had to get a new case. Ordered it on Amazon and delivery was delayed. Received the case the end of May. Went to the mailbox yesterday and received a 2nd one!
Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Everyone,
Got a little bit of a surprise this week. Ended up with 3 work-from-home days I did not expect but that is now down to 2 as I now have a meeting to attend. I have to be honest, I am feeling a little on edge about this meeting as I do not know what it is about and I feel like I should be prepping for it but since I do not know why we are meeting I cannot prep. I am an overthinker and my anxiety always makes me feeling like I have done something wrong so as soon as someone says can we talk my brain is going in 5000 directions at once so I am feeling it today. But I am going to try to focus and knock out some of the backlog that is in my email.
Tuesday night after work I ran into No Frills to grab some Alfredo Sauce, normally we would make it ourselves if it isn't on sale but it just didn't come together on Tuesday to make it ourselves. I was kind of surprised to see that not on sales, Classico was cheaper than the PC brand. I checked both were the same size jar, now I will say because of the style of Jar the PC one looked bigger but when I checked nope same size. So name brand is not always cheaper anymore.
I feel like I should run out and do our grocery shopping today because it is Thursday but I gotta be honest, I do not feel like it so we shall see.
Happy Thursday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Well, the bank account got funded before I went to two stores before 12pm. Rain sprinkled on me twice between the bank and the Dollarama at opposite ends of plaza. Glad I cleared the dollar store before students on lunch break started to come into store. One student did get the door opener for me as I approached the outer doors so I thanked him. Went into Fortinos-wah, my first aid tape is gone and store has moved most of the Band Aid plastic bandages to eye level and what's left of Nexcare tapes is on a lower shelf. Glad I bought two tapes last month. I know the Fortinos website has delisted the tape I need as I checked after last month's buy to see if another area store might have it-item was not listed.
The Deal Guy showed in his June preview of Dollar Tree buys some foldable mini fan with phone holder but the item was not in the actual segment. I saw a similiar fan without phone holder in white, aqua, blue and dark pink plus yellow. Yellow fan (2.50)joined the three items I had intended to buy along with mattress plastic bag, a spray bottle to use with lemon juice to deal with the mortar dust on the bricks. Almost bought a bright plastic flannel backed table cover but the $4 spend does not make sense right now. It'd be nice to have but maybe once per summer the small folding rectangular table is used outdoors. The yellow fan needs 3 AAA batteries-I have two sets of those and there's an on off switch. Issue is that circular feet have no felt or plastic bumpers inside the circles to dampen noise from vibration of the fan when I used it on atop the new fridge/freezer unit. Found 2 -1/2" vinyl bumpers (kept part of card and the 50% off sticker reminds me that I found it at Fortinos so I need to double check one clearance shelf in case some more might be lurking, to save me a trip to Lee Valley Tools (may try Dollar Tree, Winners and Cdn Tire just in case). Put two smaller dome bumpers inside the other two circles and the bumpers have absorbed the vibration well! Unfortunately, I don't have 1/2" rubber bumpers with adhesive nor peel and stick soft Velcro circles on hand. Now if someone is cooking on a hot day, the tiny fan can help redirect hot air towards the kitchen window and there is no need for Bro's bulky fan to be in the dining room with the cord impeding access to part of same table.
The medium size cushion bandages are gone too but the large cushion pads are still stocked. I can get the same product at Walmart but the tape at Shoppers will be closer to $7 each than the $5.99 Fortinos charged. I may try my clearance search at another Fortinos or see if I can find an alternative (not keen on Life Brand tapes because they never hold somewhat as well as name brand tapes). The soft Nexcare tape flexes somewhat and is bearable in hot weather but plastic tapes are a big DON'T BUY because they cut into skin and if skin is itchy like mine is in areas, the plastic just irritates even more. I seem to be developing more itchy skin towards one underarm as my situation seems to be expanding in that direction when the heat sticks around. I got the $4.99 Chapmans Super Premium luxury ice cream Salted Caramel as I knew I was going to be too bogged down with totes to cross the road for the $3.99 price of item at Food Basics. Good that I had jotted Food Basics' deals on reverse side of my list--I used it to pass on some needed items because I can get them at better price at Food Basics on another trip.
Bus trip will be delayed to tomorrow. Two thunderstorms were set to happen today. First one was to be around noon but nothing occurred except for a little gray sky while blue sky and white fluffy clouds were on other side of the sky. Glad I did not have a downpour on way home and that I bought a drink-felt so hot on walk home and I had left my water bottle on the kitchen counter.
Managed to watch episode 3 of The Kardashians this morning despite the noisy unloading of materials and basic traffic stoppage on street due to one property owner's continued use of landscaping dozer/forklift from the road side rather than on his lawn (as he did yesterday). Second day of this. Am seriously considering getting bylaw involved if a third day materializes where road traffic is impeded/blocked during morning or afternoon rush hour. Last summer was unnerving for weeks of same behaviour."This is the Way." The Mandalorian

Bell Advantage program for Bell customers to get discounts on select products at Radio Shack ends TODAY. Then bye bye to the Source stores as some convert to Best Buy express and others likely will close by next month.
I did look on the Source's site in April for any headsets that could be used for phone or gaming use with headphone jack. Nothing I wanted seemed to be in stock without an online order or no stock at all. By contract, the Dollarama has a $4 Tech one headset but nothing on box indicates if it's a Bluetooth set or a headphone jack device so I did not buy it. I'd like one headset with microphone for the cellphone if I manage to get the desired phone plan later this month (it'd be ideal to get it in July but timing might not work out for me). I'll check the local surplus store for any headsets and look online in case Staples might offer something in-store.
I liked reading of @coupongirl 's score on clearance headphones at Shoppers Drug Mart. I have inexpensive Maxell headphones from the public library. They were $3.25 or so a couple of years ago and were sold at the staff counter in my branch.
Printed off my Financial Resolutions post to tape to my card case. Will be returning the laptop computer on Saturday and getting the cellphone for wifi use. Not sure how often I'll be able to post to this forum given that pop-up ads on any site always tire me out in attempts to get rid of them on the smaller screen. Hope to do light posting on the forum 2 or 3x per week (not sure how much posting for Gift Card Deals will occur by me; members are welcome to post in the thread)and check e-mails. Have not decided whether to archive or delete my X/formerly Twitter account-it is so handy for current events and news. Digital cleanup is like old adhesive residue-how much cleanup is good enough?"This is the Way." The Mandalorian

Tried 3 times to get my Apple ID verified and the system doesn't let me get the free trial (the Help page does not explain why the website does not accept the codes). Yes, I did three verification codes so two resends after first attempt was not accepted then repeated the first code just to see if website was glitching). But since I am not on an Apple device, could that be an issue? I used to have a different ID for music back in the free music codes from Coke time in 2010s. However, I did get the older Apple ID deleted some years ago. Not sure what the issue is. I may ask my friend about trying to get the Apple TV+ free trial on her Apple phone or just see if the library's Apple computer comes online soon for use (nice big screen!).
Definitely not going to try for the trial on the cellphone. There's a limit to technology and viewing enjoyment on tiny screens.Last edited by Ciel21; Thu, Jun 6th, 2024 at 05:30 PM.
