@coupon girl !! That is such amazing progress and as you said when you started you were just going to eliminate the extras like sweets, and then have reasonable portion sizes.
Congrats on that success. Sebastian is EIGHT already? Wow, and what a magical age for kids, they still have all the wonder and innocence about the world. Hope his dinosaur themed party is a smash!!
I did a few stops this morning, at NF grabbed the 10 lbs. of white spuds ( $1.77 ) They're almost pure white! No blemishes and almost no skin, like a new potato is. Sale Tassimo coffees ( $5.77 , with 1,000 Optimum points on each pkg.), 6 of the small cans of .95 Unico Tuna.
Onto WM to get my 227 gr. tub of hummus ( $2.97 ) and found Hamlets special wet food that he loves. Turns out it's Sheba brand, I had a sample once and couldn't remember what it was. The trays are nice and small which works well, none of it gets left to dry up in the dish.
Lastly Metro had the butternut squash on for .88 lb.! Three medium sized ones came to $6.32 and the receipt showed a savings of $11.58.
Explains why I hardly ever buy Metro's produce, always so overpriced.

Good Morning Everyone,
UGH yesterday was a struggle, I woke up tired and just could not snap out of it. It took everything to just get through my work day. But I did get the laundry done and did cook dinner but did not clean the kitchen that needs to be done this morning.
Today I need to clean my kitchen and I should really tackle my pantry it is a disaster. I really need to kick my butt into gear and get some stuff done but I really just feel so overwhelmed by all of it.
I have been working on organizing my work stuff, it is taking longer than expected but it feels so good. This is just one part of my job so still so much more than needs to be done but it feels good.
Now I need to bring that feeling to our house. I think I am just so worried we are going end up in the same spiral that always happens. We go into it saying we need to get rid of stuff but as soon as we start sorting everything needs to stay and I get frustrated and start to shut down and give up.
I think this weekend's goal is going to be to get organized. I will probably work on some of the work stuff, I need to make more graphs in my notebook and colouring in the squares, oh the accomplishment, I need to organize the pantry because out of sight out of mind is not working anymore and I need to write a meal plan as the struggle with dinners is real again.
Happy Saturday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Happy Saturday all. Jays just won the 2nd game against the Cardinals. 7-2 Nice to see Davis Schneider smack a HR, get an RBI and more. Been in a slump for a while.
Argos obliterated the BC Lions yesterday. DH's mood is elevated, ha ha.
No dinner plans at all, pulled a bag of cooked frozen shrimp from the freezer with intentions this morning but no recipes have come to mind yet. DH and I just finished having " breakfast " ....3 poached eggs over toast with tomato slices and coffee.

Good Morning Everyone,
Already a busy morning, I saw online yesterday afternoon Costco has their Chicken Breast on $6 off/package. I thought about going last night at closing but didn't go and kicked myself for it this morning as I did not want to go but since I missed the last sale I knew I needed too.
I left early so I could go to RCSS on the way, this location seems to be the only one that has my Oregano pills in stock (the one by work is always sold out when I check and Wal-Mart is now $7 more a bottle, gotta check those prices). I grabbed 1 of those plus 2 of the Life Brand that are on sale, the Life Brand are a lower dosage so I am going to use it as my day to day and use the Nature's Bounty as my OH NO supply.
As well they had the bags of hall buy 2 get 2500 points, I check and there price was $4 where is Wal-Mart is $3.98 (not on sale every day so no price match) but figured I would grab 4 bags works out to $2.75/bag normally I stock up when they go on sale for $3.49.
They had the 6-pack of lettuce for $5 (member pricing) so I grabbed one of those and they were supposed to have mini cucumbers but did not have any in stock. The 11-pack was on for $4 they only had te 6-pack for $3.99, so I skipped those.
At Costco, I got 2 packages of Chicken Breasts, a pack of Naan, some Kettle Cooked Chips, Cheese slices, a block and cheddar and mozzarella and they had there Butternut Squash in 2-pack $5.49 so I grabbed a pack. Oh and I grabbed mini cucumbers $0.49 more than RCSS but they had them in stock. I have a feeling I saw the preview of next week sales and will need to go back this week so I grabbed enough that if I am wrong I don't have to go back but if I am right the rest can wait.
We actually have more chicken left than I thought (normally I grab 3 packs) but I think I want to go back to not only pre slicing our meats but also pre-marinating them as well. I have really been loving pulling out souvlaki Chicken and Pesto Chicken we had and making bowls or wraps with them. I think we will chop up one pack and marinate the other.
I did get the pantry cleaned up yesterday, feels so good to have that done, I did over buy on Salsa opps, but all good the best before is 2026. There are a few things I need to grab, these are things that don't go on sale so when I bring it up I add it to my list like Vanilla and Cornstarch.
Today is going to be a prep day, I already have some of our veggies soaking in water and vinegar in the sink. Weill see where the day takes me.
Happy Sunday Everyone.Last edited by SassyAshley; Sun, Sep 15th, 2024 at 11:19 AM.

Good to read that BIL went home. Will be an adjustment being at home but think family had time to change main floor around to make it easier for him to use rooms. Hope they got occupational therapist consultation while he was in hospital regarding any mobility aids during recovery.

I came across a Freedom Mobile outage thread from Sept 12-internet and phone issues. I have had sudden Internet disconnects twice this week between midnight and 1am. Last night, I was online 10-15 minutes on my phone when suddenly I was looking at an error message on dark screen. Voicemail works. Was able to callout yesterday.
Even the company's website seems to have loading issues.
Canadian Tire's Triangle rewards login page was showing the spinning logo cursor on Fri and Sat when I attempted to login to see my offers. Will see if anything has changed today.
Need to get burgers at Giant Tiger as the Butterball turkey ones are on for 9.99.I last paid 8.99 in the spring but they were not on sale again in May nor June there. Need beverage option for this heat as my freeze pops run out.
Last trip to Walmart earlier in the week, I spotted two Ziploc coupon pads attached flat on the shelves. Buy 2 participating Conagra Brands products (listed)and save $3 on any one Ziploc product, with Dec 31 expiry. Rare coupon spotting at that store.
Have a 30% off housewares, electronics etccoupon that expires today at Value Village. There is a gadget of interest but it is lacking its power cord. Might pop in just to see if item got purchased.
When I returned last Sunday to the store, many tops spotted the night before were no longer on the racks. Am seeking a particular diaper bag of past model. Wish I had been seeking those out since 2021 rather than strollers but gear interests do shift.

I was reading online yesterday that when the whole family was working long hours in the cotton mills( in England so my ancestors) that they would drop off their casserole to be cooked in the community oven-and then pick it up on their way home! Ingenious I think-the original fast food!
I am very thankful to be a homemaker in this day and age when pushing a button does the laundry, dishes, turns on the stove etc. To start every day by hauling water or getting the wood stove going is beyond my imagination.

@coupongirl how is it possible that your grandson is 8. Happy birthday to him.
Our whirlwind week is over and we are at the airport. The airline needed people to take a later flight and it was only 4 hours after our original flight, they were offering 600.00 in travel credit so we accepted. It will make work in the morning hard as it’s going to be about 2 am when we get home. By the time they gave us the credit it was 800.00 and they gave us a dinner voucher. 1600.00 will cover at least 3 trips between our homes in the next year so it will be worth the delay tonight.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Where oh where did the day go.
Note to self, never buy 9 heads of lettuce again you will seriously dislike yourself well prepping them all. I grabbed a 3-pack at Food Basics thinking I wouldn't get to RCSS until later in the week but Costco put Chicken on sale and off I went. 9 romaine have been processed and honestly it felt like it took forever.
Also prepped some older mini cucumbers we had in the fridge, some peppers, cut up the broccoli and celery. Mom cleaned the mushrooms. All the veggies are prepped for the week.
Still need to make a meal plan, tonight I made Taco bowls using Rice, Salsa Chicken, Peppers, Mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar, sour cream and salsa, so good and go filling and packed full of veggies.
I got Rice made but no other cooking, so I might try to bake something tomorrow. I wanted to make something today but ran out of time. I thought it was 4:30 maybe 5, nope it was 6 so a few things did not get done.
I still have not set my week for work, I planned to do that after dinner but I lost time so that did not happen, guess that will be the first thing on my to-do list tomorrow. I do have some training to get done but would also love a week at home to get caught up so we shall see.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
