Afternoon we just got back from toronto at 2.30 .Boy oh boy took 2 and half hours to get there sat morning as the gardnier was closed. We made it just in time to watch Sebastian swim class .

I did 3 loads of laundry for daughter as she was sick last week ,he ex just got over covid so she has had Sebastian for 13 days now ,he is an active boy also .
I played a guessing game with him (forgot the name) coloured in an adult colouring book ,nerf guns run around and shot each other (not in the face or head i told him).

Then today we treated him and daughter to "Lady Marmalade" a lovely brunch place in toronto's east end.As she spent so much on the girls weekend .

@coupon girl The very happiest of celebrations for both your 65th trip around the earth and for marking 45 years married to " what's his name ". You know I'm joking right? I wish you many more years together!!
Sounds like the visit with Sebastian was fun and gave your DD a bit of a reprieve as she stays away from her ex with covid. When we heard the Gardener was going to be closed ( again ) we cancelled any plans to visit with DS#1.

@harbie , sorry to your DH and clients had Covid, seems there is another wave coming our way.

We have had 3 people at work test positive and none of the caught it from each other. I felt bad for one person she missed her first week because she tested positive.

I do not know what it is but I keep losing time in the afternoon.

My morning was going great, I was right on schedule to be done right around noon which was amazing because I started late but then I swear it went from 12:30 to 2:30 in 15 minutes.

I made a loaf of bread this morning using my small batch french loaf but the seam busted open so it looks funny. Will have to see if I can trim it up as I made it to make Garlic Bread this week.

I cooked a batch of rice, I could literally eat bowls every night, just change the protein and the sauces and you have a whole new bowl.

I grated some Cheddar as I needed it for my lunch (burger bowls) plus I am sure we will need some for dinners.

I made a batch of Lemon Ricotta Muffins and realized I need to use my Costco size container of Ricotta so I also made a triple berry ricotta cake. Normally I would not make two ricotta dishes in one weekend but it was a full tub of Costco Ricotta. Even after making both of these we could still make Instant Pot Lasagna this week.

I made a Chicken Parm Pasta we can have one night this week, just need to top with provolone and toss in the oven.

Cut up some veggies for my in branch days and tzatziki in case Mom wants Souvlaki Bowls.

I was doing great it was noon and I decided to make the cake and finish up the pasta and before I knew it, it was 2:30. Good news I cleaned as I went so the kitchen wasn't a disaster so I took out the garbage and hoped in the shower.

Only problem was I did not plan Dinner so after all this my want to cook was Zero so I made Nachos and well I made dinner I packed my lunches for the week so when I need them I can just grab and go. Burger Bowls, Lemon Ricotta Muffins, Clementines, Cucumbers & Peppers, some nuts, plus my tea supplies so I can make tea in the branch.

As long a can get a couple work from home days we should be good for dinners with little to minimail prep that Mom should be able to do well I am driving home if I end up coming home late.

Need to write a to-do list for tomorrow as it might be my one shot to get some of this stuff done this week.

Walkonby -the closure was brutal 2 and a half hrs -thank god i did not have to go pee,of course i only took one tiny sip of my water the whole trip.Bumper to Bumper all the way across the city ,almost hit from behind someone slammed on their brakes.Brutal!!

Shwa girl -we dont get the dental plan from the federal goverment as hubby has a company dental plan .You cant have both .
While i am thankfull for this plan that is yrs behind my implant will not be cheap we may save about a 1,000 thats it.No i dont care to have dentures if i can keep my own teeth .
Yes i will get the old age pension in October which is a nice addition to all of our expenses lately teeth ,new fridge coming etc .
Well i wont be buying much groceries for the month (the ones that need refridgerated.)as i dont have room in this stand up smaller bar fridge ,we unplugged the old fridge as nothing was keeping cold.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary @coupongirl .
We spent a lovely afternoon celebrating a friend’s birthday as well. The fall colours are really starting to show and the drive through the valley was beautiful.
We sat outside by the river but by the time I got home I was chilly so it was long pants and fuzzy socks. I doubt we will make it to October before we turn on the furnace. In Ontario it was often almost November. I am really trying to hold off because the cost of heating this house is terrifying.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

    @coupongirl Happy Birthday & Anniversary🥳
You now qualify for 50% off Go Transit fares Which you either buy at vending unit at Go station or just load $$ through FortSdm stores and you can get one Presto card for free from Hsr with proof of age and residency in Hamilton(so card can be set for senior fare-you can try at Shoppers or Fort for the card but staff ought to verify your age etc or pop downtown). If you decide to get a monthly bus pass, register the card online as your demographic group is the only one eligible for non refundable tax credit for weekly or monthly transit passes in Ontario on your tax return- you'd print a report from your account.
The Canada Carbon Rebates come on Oct 15, perfect to offset some of your upcoming expenses. Btw, Sept 30 is also a bank holiday...last quarterly tax instalment is due by then to City of Hamilton.

Nice to get rain yesterday before evening news. Two short bursts of hail were a surprise-metal roof and eaves tipped me off to the hail. Rain barrel is now half full.
Friday, I was thinking of need to do some cutting of branches well before Thanksgiving and most of leaves dropping.I really want to know leaf raking will be mostly down by Nov clock change. There are small but rather tedious home maintenance needs to figure out before weather gets quite cold.
Meal planning today was pulling out whatever vegetables were on crisper about to be unusable but eligible for roasting. Some reduced produce buys had to be tossed as Mom forgot about them in the other fridge.
Still not able to log into Cdn Tire Triangle account.

    @SassyAshley
I have not been in No Frills but I sometimes find that Shoppers and Fortinos do not always have shelf tags for stock right there on their shelves, but there can be tags for items not in stock. First aid sections come to mind.
Last week, the hit of the month $2 Huggies wipes had its regular price tag on shelf (SDM)but not the $2 sale price. However the window poster promoting Hits of the Month states the item price.
In looking at current Loblaw banner store gift card offers, three store banners do not mention app exclusive but other two banners do reference the PC Opt app for getting the points for gift card deal.I am sensing a digital divide when I look at that gift card offer as not everyone has digital devices to use the app if only the app offer stores are near one's home.
As of Sept.19, PC Express pickup or delivery orders require minimum $30 cart.

good morning frugal seekers! Just running though a few posts to start my morning, haven't even had a coffee yet.
@SassyAshley , when I read through all the stuff you made on Saturday I was exhausted.
Seems to me you had a very productive weekend. No to-do list will challenge you!

As far as cheese goes I accidently bought too much feta! Good thing I noticed the double pack on the bottom shelf
way at the back of the fridge as I was putting away the new double pack. The bb dates are always long for feta so
    that helps.

An important run today to grab a b'day card for a truly special gal. Canada Post had better do their part once I stamp
and send it off. It does not feel like a Monday to me, but as a retiree I have no barometer. The guys otoh had a bit of
a crappy 2 days off. Hygienist appts. a union meeting, broken sleep as a result. Doesn't sound like much but the drive
to the meeting was longer than the actual meeting...lol. They're back to the salt mines again today.

    Have fun everyone.
