I remember you saying that years ago that you shared a snow blower. My sister did that with her neighbour years ago when she was young and had bought her 1st house. They had it all on paper the depreciation and how it would work if one of the moved. (which they both have long ago)
Ours was a deal and even the 1st year of use it paid for itself (was cheaper then paying and trusting someone to come!!)

I am so glad it’s the weekend. Work is slowly tearing me apart, to the point I can tell you how many days I have left. I picked my retirement date and it’s less than 6 months away. So days like today I have to remind myself to stay with the plan.
It certainly looks and feels like fall here. The oil truck did a tiny delivery of oil and the price of Home oil is down now only if it stays that way when winter hits. I turned on the furnace tonight only because we have guests coming over. I like the house cold so it does not bother me at 19 degrees but not everyone feels the same.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Walked past a pear tree and plucked a few for a snack. Pretty sweet, compared to other years. Much of the fruit had fallen, but there was plenty still on the branches. Normally, I harvest about 80 pounds at this time. However, my freezers are still bursting from the fruit I made into sauce last year. I've got nowhere to put them. Sigh, I hope that Mother Nature doesn't punish me for turning my back on her bounty.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Oh my what a week, I am done but still so much to get done.

I was in the plant all week with a new trainee which was not my plan, I planned to be there but not planning to be there ALL day so that kind of threw off my week which means I am now super behind. Plus I had my monthly catch up with my boss yesterday and now have a bunch of other things I need to work on. Plus as soon as the person my trainee is covering is back from vacation, I move on to the next trainee.

I did not grocery shop this week, hoping we can make what we have work, we have Milk which is really the only thing I need to worry about because with our freezers I have always have meats and frozen produce on hand, plus I also have Milk in the freezer just in case. The pantry is stocked so have potatoes, onions, pasta and rice so really I do not see it being an issue. Really it might just be fresh stuff, but I still have mushrooms, peppers, mandarins and grapes.

Today I need to do all the house things, laundry is already going, I thought Thursday or Friday were going to be work from home days and I was going to do laundry then but I ended up in the plant and the manager was in the other plant so I couldn't leave. I had actually planned to only go in for a couple hours yesterday do the stuff the trainee could not and leave but I got there to discover the manager was working in the other plant so I had to stay all day.

I need to clean the kitchen, the last two nights I did not clean up after dinner just stacked the dishes so I am pretty sure I can fill the dishwasher and run it. Hoping there aren't too many hand dishes.

Then all the regular stuff needs to be done the bathroom needs to be cleaned the floors need to be done.

If I am being honest, all I want to do is curl up on the couch under a blanket and watch TV and maybe crochet. But that is not life.

Good news we did really well with dinners this week, the only night we struggled was last and that was my fault because I thought I was going to be home by 1 at the latest and could figure something out but I was not home until after 5 since I stayed until close.

Now to think about tonight's dinner, I am thinking maybe Chicken Parm or Meatloaf with Mac & cheese but we will see.

    Happy Saturday Everyone.

Hi everyone. I'm not sure where to put this comment but...here goes. According to the CBC, https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montr...real-1.7334490 the Longshoreman's Strike in Montreal Port looks inevitable and set to start on Monday. Even if it is not extended into weeks, this will cause disruption in the supply lines and may make some foreign items disappear temporarily off the shelves. I will be considering what my household needs to stock up on and I'll be doing so on Sunday...just as a precaution. Good weekend, everyone.

I had my 3 store plan this morning....FB first to get some sale items, then it was going to be NF and last SDM for the 3 dozen $1.99 eggs.
What a surprise when I pulled into the FB Plaza and saw that their location of SDM opened at 8 a.m. ( my regular store is not until 9 a.m. )So I dashed in there first to grab the eggs.
Then onto FB where the staff is more than courteous, They always are at that one. From the stock " boys " to the cashiers they go above
    and beyond imoh.
When I was at FreshCo Thursday they had none of the cat food advertised in the flyer. ( 24 cans Seafood Supreme Friskies ).
On for $19.99 per case + 200 Scene Points on each case.
I even phoned at 7 a.m. today and have them check if any had come in and they said none had come in ( again! ) . Grrrr.
Well.....I just gambled and hit the store on the way home from NF and found the only 2 cases on a bottom shelf! woo hoo!

Take aways were redeemed $30.00 PC points at NF, redeemed $10.00 Scene Points at FreshCo.

Got to love those $1.99 eggs-I just picked some up too. DH says he is cutting the grass and putting on the snow tires today-although thankfully there is no sign of snow any time soon.

Thank you. Wikipedia says these things go through that port:
n 2019, more than 2,000 cargo ships visited with the port, while handling 40,500,000[4] metric tonnes of consumer goods, machinery, cereal, sugar, petroleum products, and other types of cargo.
    Cereal? Better stock up.

Yep. The strike is going to hit the US and, I'm told, Toronto is a likely strike port as well. Just make sure your family is taken care of re: regular needs like cereal, as Shwa Girl points out. God knows, we've only got ourselves to count on these days. Sorry to be such a gloomy Gus. But politics are directly impacting what we put on dinner tables these nights and what our families have to eat. And, no, not a criticism of the workers who are seeking fair conditions. Me, I intend to stock up on the bananas that my husband loves...

Found a 2-pound bag of abandoned chicken nuggets outside of Walmart. The plastic packaging had not been breached. They had been there since at least Thursday and thus thoroughly defrosted. Oh, well. I took them home and will make sure they are very well cooked before eating them. Wish me luck.

    Good Morning Everyone,
I got the bare basics done yesterday.

Laundry is done, the towels are folded but still need to put them away, I am not sure what it was but oh my did I crash and crash hard last night. I went from wide awake to feeling like I was barely functioning in the blink of an eye last night. So the towel still need to be put away but the linen closet is right outside Mom's room so I will wait until she wakes up.

I did clean the kitchen, loaded the dishwasher, ran the dishwasher, did the hand dishes, scrubbed down the counters and emptied the dishwasher as soon as i was done so we did not end up in a vicious circle because let's be honest if I cannot reload dishes will pile up. Also last night after dinner I did make sure to clean the kitchen.

I sat here for a long time thinking about all of the other things I should get done but that did not happen. But also, not making excuses but I did it again, I felt like I lost time, one minute it was noon and I swear only 5 minutes later it was just after 2 pm.

Last night I did work on a few work emails both my boss and Dad were emailing last night so I took care of those as most were just answers. Then I started taking screen shots for manuals and set up a profile for a new hire and taking screenshots for their training. It was actually kind of relaxing, I am that weird person who likes editing photos so screenshots are right up my alley.

I really need to get some prep done today. I tried to write a meal plan last night but although I had some good options depending on how busy my week is they won't work as I cannot prep ahead.

I feel like I need this weekend to be about a week long to get caught up. We will see what I can get done.

    Happy Sunday Everyone.
