@harbie ....Congrats on getting an early start to your longish weekend. Smart to get some treatment on your leg to use up those benefits.
They expire if ya don't.
I am jumping on the previous quotes and compliments on your beautiful gift baskets! So bright and colourful. I'm not even drooling over
those chocolates......I lie! I am. ha ha

@walkonby I’ll admit it was a bit hard to not sneak a ferreo Roche (those were my favourites) but alas it has dairy so not vegan. Saves me some extra poundage

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Well that was not what I expected, I am feeling better today and even my co-workers are telling me I sound so much better, BUT......................
I took Mom to the doc as she is a lot sicker than I am, weezing, severe coughing fits, trouble breathing. I did not even had an appointment just took Mom but both of us walked out a prescription as we both have walking pneumonia. Not what I was expecting I thought finally I got a cold and was getting better without seeing the doc, guess not.
Doc said anyone with a cold should get checked out as most have walking pneumonia right now and don't realize it.
I am at the stage where I just want to be better and scrub this house down to get rid of the germs but I still get short of breath so my rage cleaning might have to wait. But then again after one day of meds I will wake up all better tomorrow, right? LOL.
Taking it easy today just working on some training materials, we have another run of new hires coming through some I will train some others will train but I will supply the documents.

We are heading away for the weekend for a get together with 2 other couples. Mid week we are moving into our friends place to look after their 10 year old and 14 year old twin boys! That is right-2 sets! Pray for me-I see a lot of school and hockey runs in my near future.

@SassyAshley oh dear! Walking Pneumonia, the 2 of you have it? That ain't good.
Rage cleaning should wait for sure, just take the meds and rest up. (((hugs )))
@lizzie bargain , wow! That challenge with watching over TWO sets of twins might
turn into a funny prank week? Are they identical twins? ( one may impersonate the other )

Good Morning Everyone,
Thank you, I gotta tell you it got worse before it got better (is it getting better, I am not sure yet). After I took the first dose of the meds on Friday I was done and then I did not sleep well Friday night which was the last thing I needed. Yesterday I sat on the couch, that was all I had in me. I kept saying I felt better before the meds, which was true before the meds I thought oh maybe this weekend we can get back on track and then I started the meds.
So far this morning I am feeling a bit more like a person, I slept from about 11 last night until 9 am (OH MY GOSH who am I sleeping till 9 am, I know, I know my body needed the sleep). Still don't have a ton of ambition but we will see where the day takes me.
I would really love to get some prep done, this week is going to be insane as I need to catch up on what I did not get done last week and add in this week's adventures. As well I do have some work I need to get done because there was stuff I was supposed to do Friday that did not get done because I could not put 2 & 2 together. We have a new staff member starting Monday and they are not setup in the system yet so yeah gotta get that done today.
Mom has asked me to a load of laundry so need to do that today as well.
Oh so much to get done but let's be honest, it ain't going to happen, but we will see what I can get done.
@coupon girl , I was talking to a co-worker, her family has been battling for over a month with everything from sinus infections, to tonsillitis, to bronchitis and now pneumonia. She mentioned her daughter was out of school for 2 weeks, plus she has been missing work because she has been so sick. She is lucky her parents live on the same property so they watch the kids but she said she has been so sick she has been off and even got sent home.
I have a feeling it is going to be one horrible cold and flu season, I already told Mom as soon as we are well we are off to get flu shots and Covid shots.

Frugal thought. It's good to make a good investment.
So I went to get a poppy for Remembrance Day. They have some nice ones that are $2 or $5. They last a number of years. So I get one each year. Collector items when they have new ones. But hey, they sold out this year! This is great - I like that they help veterans

Good Morning Everyone,
Feeling like a person ended quite quickly yesterday. After I posted I took a shower hoping that would bring on some ambition for the day, nope, instead all I wanted was a nap.
But with that being said, I did clean out the fridge, we did not have a lot of food waste but wow was it disorganized making it look way fuller than it was. I did have a couple of bad carrots and something else I cannot remember got pushed to the back of fridge so the garbage had to go out which was not fun. Not sure what was up but yesterday I felt like I could not breathe so hauling out garbage was not fun but I got it done.
We did get some produce prep done, mostly just dealing with the produce I bought when I was feeling better.
Today, I do feel better but really wish this cough would stop, and a less congestion would be nice, ok, ok, I am being needy I get it. But in all seriousness I am just feeling defeated because I felt better because I started the meds and feel like I went back instead of forward. It feels like I am on round two of getting better but worried I will slide backward again. Oh well we are going to focus on, I feel better.
Time to try to get caught up on all the work things, I did not work over the weekend so now I am very behind.

Sassy -even thou Sebastian was on meds and a puffer a nurse on the phone yesterday said he still sounded like a wet cough, poor guy .
My daughter was having a bad weekend stress from work(plus something her ex said to her also) as they want everybody in 4 days a week ,please do personal appts in afternoon and to be at work at 9.00 a.m .Sebastian school doesnt let in til 8.50 a.m.So she managed to get a doctors appt today at 1.30 as her ex is working from home and his work is now saying 3 days a week in office.
Its tough when you have to working parents and a sick child ,Sebastian said to me "nana if you lived here i could go to your house after school " ahhhh.
I gave my daughter the biggest hug and kiss when we left .It is insane driving to toronto 2 15 minute hour drive sat due to an accident -roads were clear and sunny ,people just are not paying attention or wanting to get somewhere faster.Sunday the drive home at 3.30 was hour and 20 minutes.
We treated my daughter and Sebastian and Ashlyn stayed over the night to a nice brunch .(Sebastian coughing is worse upon waking and at night )

good morning fellow frugalees! I was feeling pretty chipper this morning for NO reason at all, so I've decided not to question it...lol.
Certainly am hoping that your weakness and other lethargic symptoms caused by the walking pneumonia will get gone soon!
I abhor when produce spoils in my fridge so I sure get the frustration you felt while getting at the fridge @SassyAshley .
Today is THE day....we hope.
We've been promising ourselves that a garage purge is going to take place THIS year. Every single time
we planned it out ( having to work around the shift worker hours for the guys ) something always thwarted the event.
It was either illness, weather, them getting NO sleep, therefore had no get up and go to even start it or extended family
events claiming our weekend time....so, we think today maybe it will happen!
UPDATE: Just after 4:30 and the 3 of us are done.We did it! I cannot believe we can see the floor of the garage once again! It's as if we just moved in.
The only sticking point was the large wooden box trailer filled to the top with 25+ years worth of camping equipment.
Once emptied it was going to be broken down to go into the U-Haul cube van, but there was just no more room.
I had to say a very teary goodbye to so many things that are not suitable to donate. Our vehicle is loaded with the
donatable items. Next weekend DH will break apart the wooden sides and the bottom metal frame it rests on will be a
terrific find for our local scrap metal collectors. We leave stuff at the curb and it disappears! Everybody benefits.Last edited by walkonby; Mon, Nov 11th, 2024 at 05:16 PM.
