Good Morning Everyone, @Giseledta , I feel 3-Day weekends would be ideal, one day to clean, one day to cook/prep and one day to relax. During the pandemic when people were discussing it I thought it was a wonderful idea but also know as a manufacturing company it would never happen for us.
I got my ingredient prep done but did not get any cooking done. I did all my prep in the living room this weekend watching true crime shows.
Not sure what was up this morning but, I did not want to get up. They are calling rain and high winds today so we shall see.
We did not make the Prime Rib last night as it was still frozen so that will be tonight's dinner. Thinking I will make Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli on the side.
Last night I kept it simple with a Baked BBQ Chicken Breast with Roasted Potatoes and one of the Dill Pickle Salad Kits I got from Costco last week.
I went to sort and put away my extra Bullet Journal Markers last night, I needed bins for them but instead of buying some I crocheted some bins that aren't big enough. Turns out I have more marker than I thought so I started crocheting a bigger bin last night. Hoping to have these done by the end of the week so I can finish sorting my bullet journal supplies.
Happy Monday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
follow along as tackle day to day life and whatever else 2021 throws at me:

Good morning any and all early risers.
Up as usual at 4:30 this morning but I actually didn’t get out of bed until 5.
Today’s weather is going to be a mixed day of mostly sun but some clouds so definitely getting outside. I’m going to have to cover my tomato, peas and a few others as tomorrow morning were going to have morning frost. I’m sure they’d be fine but I’ve worked too hard to let the frost damage them.
Maybe I’ll get some laundry done.

ha ha !! You slouch @harbie sleeping in till 5 a.m. I've never changed, been an early riser my entire life, retirement never altered it.
So it was off to the hygienist for 9 a.m. and I was nearly blown off my feet! It's quite chilly and VERY windy out. The kind that makes
the car door almost snap off the hinges when you open it!
Before I went to the dentist thought I'd tackle making a dozen carrot muffins. ( DH favourite next to bran ) .
I cut it very close, they came out of the oven at 8:40! I guess I forgot about the grating of the carrots and chopping the walnuts taking
extra time.
Anyone returning to work today....hope it goes quickly!

Good Morning! Happy Tuesday!
Sign me up for the loving a 3 day weekend crowd! Saturday night I felt so relaxed and still had another day off! (well 2 since I took the Monday off too!)
A co-worker had booked off Fridays for 2 months straight! I did enjoy the Friday off but personally I love the Monday off - not a stat just a day off work so I can still do stuff if needed/return from a weekend away.
I was travel planning on Saturday. 12 days in Mexico in November... I almost booked it but I am more of a book last minute because I don't want to pay for cancelation insurance....but prices I think are going to be crazy since more people are thinking Mexico now....I will take a look at it again this afternoon and decide. May be nice to have it to look forward to.
Filled up gas yesterday for 111.9L. I was going to procrastinate and do it on the way home and glad I didn't because the price was higher everywhere else and then at the same place it jumped on my way back!!
Costco- Picked up another bag of coffee, bacon bits, English muffins. ceasar dressing and a pair of Champion sport pants for DS for his birthday bag (Sept) they were marked down to $12.97 and he will love them! Paid $52 and change (pants alone would be that so happy!)
Today- Work- Have a few things I want to get done so will concentrate on them this morning and just get them done.
Kitchen- Needs cleaning. Fridge- Will give it a good clean since it is looking a little empty. Then plan the meals for the next few days using what we have on hand to use up (peppers/broccoli/onions)
ok let's get this work day over with so I can get outside and enjoy Spring!!

I know I’m a slacker @walkonby
but I made up for it today by getting up at 4:30 this morning
.
I have a question and hope some of the seasoned SCers here can help.
Car rental. How do you get the best deal? I literally haven’t rented a car in over 25 years so any help is greatly appreciated. Do you go through the car rental site ( budget, enterprise…)? What about Hotwire? Kayak? The latter seems to have odd rental names I’ve never heard of (Routes, Priceless)

Relaxing today til we babysit the girls later after school.
I got a girl baby outfit for fall 12 months size ,top and a pair of fall pjs all for $24.00 for the baby gift that is not needed til august.Always try to look for deals i am .

If you book through Costco you will find the best rates and the second driver is free-of course this only works if you are a member.
FBM is not the only one with the travel bug. I have booked a 65 night cruise in Jan from Southampton to Sydney! Planning to miss most of winter next year. This is why I am careful with my money through the year-so I can splurge on travel. Who is coming along? I am hoping DD can come along but it will depend on her work. So I may have a spare bed in my cabin.
I phoned Cunard yesterday and the price had gone down $120-not much but better in my pocket than theirs. I will keep phoning until final payment is due in August.
Yesterday I found flights to London for $396 which is a real bargain-flying in a day early so I don't miss the ship!
Today I am booking the flight home from Sydney-that will be around 1150 I think although I did get a promo code from a friend who works for Air Canada.

Morning all. Advice on renting cars and booking travel? Don't look here, ha ha. I've pretty much gotten past the excitement of any air travel,
been there, done that. Once at the destination it's all good, however we found the going and returning exhausting. Felt we needed a vacation
from the vacation. I may change my mind one day so never say never right?
Only rentals we've had were loaners from the dealership, they made the arrangements and paid, we just picked it up.
Was out early to grab cash, then to Value Village for a wardrobe refresher! After that I picked up DH's sausage buns and Red Prince apples.
Pleasantly surprised Metro still had those apples., he'll be thrilled!

With so many booking trips, has anyone used Stand-by booking for airlines? Is it even offered, anymore? I remember stories of my friends waiting hours/days at an airport, just to grab a cheap flight.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

I don't think standby is available to the general public anymore-perhaps for airline employees.

Thanks @lizzie bargain I never thought of Costco but they have great deals. Btw, congrats on the 65 day cruise! Wow! I’d love to do that one day.
Funny enough we aren’t flying anywhere @walkonby . We just don’t want to put extra unnecessary kms on our older car so we want to rent fir a shorter road trip.

Friends of brother's usually fly standby as one spouse used to work for an airline.
Dress code applies to families using standby. Remember the shorts brouhaha last year for teen whose family was flying under this policy? Not ok under dress code.
Car rentals-have never booked. If you have need of specific transmission or type of vehicle, strongly advise you see which vehicles are offered by rental places where you intend to visit-as your first choice vehicle may not be available despite advance booking, so know your second option. Check your auto membership, cc loyalty programs or other memberships for rental perks or offers. Also airlines, if you have air travel involved.
