@harbie we rent a car at least three times a year as we do not yet have a vehicle in NS. I only use Costco so here are my tips. Look at the upgrade offer. We often can upgraded at time of booking to a much better vehicle class and it’s never more than 10.00 total, not per day. Make sure you check often to see if the rates are dropping. If so rebook and then cancel the 1st booking. With my last trip 16 days was 900.00 when I booked and 3 days before travel the price was 62.00. If you are Costco executive member then you also earn 2% on the booking.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Observed 'Earth' day by collecting 100+ signs, several bags of junk, and one shopping cart of trash.

@HermanH any cash or treasure finds like prepaid cards with balances?
Amazing effort! I miss being able to cover a section to collect cans and trash along the way. I did pull off plastic wrap entangled in tree and three produce bags because the fluttering plastic was not going to be dealt with by nearby Walmart store staff.
With added town homes nearby, the dropped litter has increased.

Not today, but I did find $10 cash another time. I just saw an empty bag and decided to pick it up and start collecting litter. Voila. A ten-dollar bill magically appeared.

My older sister is in hospital in Toronto-she said a deputy returning officer came to see her and get her vote yesterday. What a great service as otherwise she would have been unable to vote.

Happy Wednesday! The sun is shining so that is a good sign!

Looked over the sale flyers starting tomorrow and wrote out a list.

Will give the upright freezer a tidy up today and pull something out for dinner for tonight (probably BLSL chicken since we have lots!)
Looks like a good day to fire up the bbq and use up the tired potatoes so I can buy a new bag on sale tomorrow Will make rice and the fresh broccoli.
Then tomorrow night we will have chicken stir-fry! (and I can use up the mini peppers!)
    A meal plan!

    Enjoy the day!

I went out to the freezer this morning and it cleaned up...it was easy because it is pretty organized by shelf (chicken on one shelf, beef on another etc)
and also because it is getting empty!!! We have 2 beef roasts left that should really be used up soon. So will add one to the meal plan next week for sure.
Now I should go back to the store today to pick a bunch of roasts that were a good price and looked nice that I saw yesterday! I will redeem Pc pts for a stock up.
They were large roasts but that is ok...then we will have enough for a meal the next night.
We do have lots of frozen raspberries ( I thought we were out and almost bought some the other day!) and frozen veggie mixes which I am probably the only one that will like them so I need to start making my protein/veggie bowl meal prep.
One large turkey that is taking up space...That should be cooked next week I think and then DS can use the leftovers for sandwiches! Really not a fan of turkey so much but we can't waste it (DS received it from work). Looks like we are really going to be eating from the freezer for the next while to get this stuff used up!

Load of laundry washed and hung to dry (my yoga pants/taniks/socks/undies- I never put these in the dryer)

I was just chatting with our Ukrainian refugee today. She has been here 3 years now and is on her fourth job-each time she has increased her pay and benefits. I tell you for somebody with just a high school diploma she is definitely moving up in the world at only 21. She has her permanent residence and can become a citizen in a year or two-just the kind of immigrant Canada needs in my opinion.

    Good Afternoon Everyone,
Since I was working from home on Monday, I got our laundry done which I am glad I did because my week has gotten all flipped upside down.

I have been training the last 2 days, we still have at least 1 more day to go but that will be next week as there are a few things I have to get done by the end of this week.

Last night on the way home I ran to RCSS as they had a special if you spend $12 on Halls you get back 3000 pts so I grabbed 3 bags which took me to exactly $12 and got the points. Mom has a halls every night she says it helps.

I have not looked at the new flyers yet but will check them out. We don't really "need" anything but always option to fresh options and anything I can stock up on, although now that I say that we will need sour cream but I have Greek Yogurt I could sub if needed.

When I got home tonight I decided to tackle Mom's wiper blades, they fell apart after the last big storm (not the ice storm, the one before). I have never changed wiper blades but when I saw them on sale at Costco I picked some up, it wasn't until after I bought them that Mom said there is some trick to her wipers and that is why she never changed them herself. Well I decided today is the day and I do not know how but I got them changed and it actually only took me 5 minutes. Now we just need to get the car boosted between the wiper blades and my nose the car hasn't been driven and now it won't start, UGH!!!! But at least now I can drive it again and not worry about weather.

I should also mention I might be spoiled because I have also never had to change my own wiper blades they get done every year when I get my winter tires on.

Okay, I need to figure out dinner tonight is one of those what do you mean dinner, didn't we just do that last night type of nights.

    Happy Wednesday Everyone.
