Got a lovely long midi skirt stretchy black and white stripes at the local thrift store $5.00.I love skirts and summer dresses, infact i cant wear my capris as it is hard to put them on over my cloth braces.
Then went to local produce store spent $60 and a lovely older well dressed lady asked me if i needed help caring my 2 bags .I thanked her and said i was okay but very much appreciated the offer.Nice to know there is kind souls out there.
May pop over to sons later to water the plants and feed "penny "the hamster.Plus he asked if i may be able to do one load of laundry -its a small one .

@HermanH could you maybe send some rain east. It’s so dry in Nova Scotia the government has closed the trails and woods in an effort to reduce the risk of a fire. It’s insane how dry it is, so many people have wells running dry. So far we are ok and while we have a few days this week with six of us here we are then gone for 5 days to Cape Breton so I am not too worried…yet.

Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday turned into a really weird day.
My plan was to run my local errands on my lunch which is something I am trying to do more. But to make this work I was going to place 2 orders online so I could just pick them up.
Turns out Canadian Tire does not accept their gift cards online. So I could not place the online order.
I went to Food Basics because they had Mushrooms on sale and oddly when I got there, there was no sign but I checked the flyer and it showed it was not a weekend only sale so I grabbed them but they scanned at regular price, okay not a problem, I asked them to remove them from my order and here is where things got weird. I will add I was not upset or rude or questioning what I was being told I simply said "can you please remove this pack from my order," but a woman came over and said:
"There are 4 different flyers offered each week and it depends on the store you shop at. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they are looking at the correct flyer before they come into the store. You should not be using Flip or Rebee they get it wrong all the time, you need to use the Food Basics website."
Okay, I get it, the mushrooms were not on sale, but as I said did I make a scene? No. Did I disagreeing with what they said? No. But I do not know something about the wording of "it is the responsibility of the customer" comment I found a little weird. I can only assume I am not the first customer who saw the wrong flyer but I don't know, I feel this was a little too much. I have been using the apps for years and this is the first time this has happened and is removing something from someone's order really an issue?
In the end I bought Limes and Dill, it was an odd shop.
Then off to Canadian Tire to get Yard Waste bags. Then off to Wal-Mart for my pick up order of Bullet Journal supplies. Although I am not sure why but all my stuff was in a bad except for the packs of markers those they handed me separately.
Because I switched things up I also went to Costco. Bought more than I planned, I have been trying to do smaller just what we need shops but I wanted to stock up so hopefully I do not have to go back this month. I was worried if I didn't grab certain things I would need to back in 2 weeks which I am trying to avoid. So even though I didn't "need" it yet I grabbed Eggs, Heavy Whipping Cream. Cesar Dressing, Garlic Powder and a few other things. It was a big shop but no meat so that helped.
I had to laugh because now we are not working this weekend, so I could have done this on the weekend and not after work.
I know I was in a mood yesterday as it was one of those days where I really just felt like I needed help. The weight of being the one working full-time, having to do all the errands and doing 98% of stuff at home hit me and I just felt like I couldn't keep on top of it all. I feel bad when I have to do things even if they are for the house after work because then dinner is delayed or becomes a quick fix and I feel guilty. I try to do things on my way home from work when I work in the office or run more errands on my lunch or go on the weekend but all of those options weren't fitting in this week. But I decided it is what is, I was going to do this and get it done so I didn't have to think about it.
Happy Wednesday everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Our public library has regional park passes that can be borrowed for a week at a time. I borrowed one this week so that we can attend a SaskExpress performance for free tomorrow.
My garden peas are slowing down production. Some of the carrots are big enough to thin out and enjoy as baby carrots. Toasted tomato sandwiches have been a nice seasonal treat. Lettuce and swisschard are still growing well for us to continue to eat. My cucumber plants look sad. I do not think my raspberry plants are going to produce this year. Several new raspberry shoots are thriving and will hopefully produce fruit next year. Red rhubarb and chives are available in abundance, but we’re accidentally damaged while we worked on our deck last week.Last edited by Angela273; Wed, Aug 6th, 2025 at 10:44 AM.

Happy Wednesday to the 2 busy beavers here! @SassyAshley you're preaching to the choir about the issue with FB flyers.
As many in here know I have never owned a cellphone and once actual paper flyers were discontinued in my area I relied
on the generous sc posting's of flyers. All I had was my hand written grocery list of sales to head to the stores with.
LOSER! ha ha
That's when I personally discovered that stores all publish different sales for different locations. GRRRR!. Heading to Metro
for the sale on 2L cartons of milk, then seeing they were regularly priced confused the heck out of me. The CS gal enlightened
me politely, nothing like the way your cashier told you Sassy!
The thing is I never even knew what MY area actually was to follow the correct flyer? When you live on the border between
2 areas all the stores in either direction are just as close to shop at. More nonsense for me to navigate. This went for all the
various flyers.
Also, the odd time WM would have a great sale, so I'd park, go in and snatch one of their flyers and head right back out to
PM the item(s) at NF since I earn PC points there. However, WM couldn't even accommodate me doing that as they often HAD NO
actual flyers at the entrance?? Double Grrrr!
Sassy, for you to be scolded, basically told that it's YOUR responsibility to know which flyer corresponds to each store, well phooey
to that!
@Angela273 gardening is NOT an undertaking for the weak! Congrats on your bounty so far this year!!
Today is an actual no spend day!! DH had an extra day off yesterday so we shopped, pumped gas and I even cooked a couple work
meals ahead for the guys. Sadly the heat wave is back here so they made up garden salads and sammies. A nice entree of hot food
is too much when you slug at work.
Oh well....Go Jays Go!! Make it a SWEEP today against the Colorado Rockies!!Last edited by walkonby; Wed, Aug 6th, 2025 at 02:01 PM.

@SassyAshley you are still a better person than I am I would have been so annoyed at the employee that I would have leave every thing and walk out. That employee had no right to speak to you like that. This happened to me a while back at Metro I say the impossible nuggets on sale in a flyer went over there to learn from the employee in charge of meat that the do t even carry that item but he was very nice about it , that’s when I learned that not all the stores even carry the same items and that some stores have different flyers .
Not having physical flyers being delivered to residents is a pain and sometimes the flyers you get is not even go the store closest to me

Sassy my dear daughter was talking to me on her way to work this morning ,she was gonna be late due to Sebastian not moving fast enough for camp. Her boss doesnt mind as tonight she doesnt have Sebastian and she stays til 6.30 or 7.00 p.m .
She was telling me it is hard to juggle life a career ,single parent (mind you they share him equally)she is trying to maybe go on the odd date on the apps but it is challenging .I wish i could have given her a big hug .
I told her next week we have Sebastian mon to friday so that will help her a bit .Like she tells me life can be hard sometimes .

@flemeth , I literally thought of that as I walked out. I thought I should have just grabbed my empty bags and walked out but I think I was just taken aback by what was said.
Still the phrase "responsibility of the customer" still gets me2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

My local Dominos is offering scheduled tours for kids. My 3 kids participated this morning. It cost $15 total. They each made their own pizza. They received their personal pan pizza, a coupon for a free pizza (happy surprise), a certificate of completion, and a colouring page. 6 pan pizzas for $15 was a great deal.
I used 50/50 lean ground pork and discount ground beef to make burgers for supper. I also made meatballs that I still need to bake, then freeze. They’re in the fridge because I ran out of time before our kids’ afternoon swimming lessons.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

I have, literally, done exactly that; walked out and left everything at the register. I will never need their stuff as much as they need my money and I will not tolerate customer abuse. Our latest police chief said, 'We get the level of social disorder we tolerate.' I refuse to accept either.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

I also just get a RADAR paper bundle with the 2 pages preview of the most popular flyers each week.
No Wal-Mart .
So yes,I prefer too to use REBEE on dad cellphone, much easier and I can see everything at least...
I MUST say all the time I am in Maxi and Cie the people at the same cash register are using REEBEE OR F. l . i . p .p to on their cellphone for
price
matching items.
Looks not a lot of people still use papers flyers like before we haved all the pages and the flyer in PUBLISAC for now...Last edited by cath007; Wed, Aug 6th, 2025 at 11:51 PM.

Pharmaprix (SDM) Tonight :
*** I had to get refunded and re-do my purchase because I miscalculated something( I did not realize the taxes did not count) so without taxes I was under my text offer of 20 000 pc points wub 60$ but at the end it did works*** I rarely shop at Pharmaprix (SDM)
*** I did not found the new Pringles Tear- pad coupon but I had the last one expiring December 2025 .***
Brag:
11x Various Pringles chips @3,00$
minus 11x 1,00$ Pringles tear- pad coupons
minus 2000 pc points per Pringles = 22 000 pc points
*** The Pringles are good Best Before date June 16 ,2026***
8x Various SoftSoap 332 ml hand soap small bottles @ 4,92$
minus 2500 pc points on each small bottles = 20 000 pc points
With text offer ended yesterday of 20 000 when you spend 60$
OOP: 72,26$
Gained 60 000 pc points
And 930 points base
After factoring the points. I only paid the taxes on the Pringles and SoftSoap and maybe 1,85$ .
Normally I would not bother but I would have purchased 2x 1,47 l SoftSoap Pump Refill @ 7,00$ each plus the taxes anyway.
But I think this is a bit a better deal .I will not have to refill the pump bottle too.The goal is to live day by day not to much thinking hahaha !!!!
