Has anyone actually emailed or called Walmart to ask about this?
I am currently looking for coupons for non parishable foods or grocery coupons good until December to help with Christmas food helpers.
If you have any to trade please PM me.

This happened to me too but cashier was very nice. I had 10 coupons that said one per purchase. Cashier was going to accept but some other cashier with nothing to do came and stuck her nose in our business and whined that that meant one per transaction. CSM was called.

She told us we'd have to do ONE per TRANSACTION. TEN separate transactions later we thanked the poor cashier for her hard work as the woman behind us in line and even her friend in another lineup yelled at her in Greek (so who knows what she was saying).

This of course as her kids were climbing all over the conveyor belt and she said nothing. Then crazy lady tried to steal the flyers we were using to PM (seriously. She was buying some of the same stuff we were and wanted them for herself. Not after the scene you caused for no reason, woman.)

The next time we went there, we had no problems using multiples in one transaction. Really wish people would understand the difference between one per purchase and one per transaction. It's the cashiers that are going to have to deal with this kind of crap

I told her I did have one per purchase because each one I was purchasing had a coupon. I was told that one per purchase now means one per transaction. The way she was looking at me felt like I was stealing or something. I was so angry. I go there at least once a week and have never had an issue using more than one coupon. I was so mad about the way I was treated that I called the store manager who said the policy did change because they are losing money taking more than one like coupon in a transaction, they are not being reimbursed. How stupid is this! Like I'm going to do multiple transactions and be treated like crap for using coupons!! There are plenty of stores who are happy to take my coupons so I'll be shopping elsewhere!

I noticed that the cashiers at my local WM seem stricter lately. Had a problem with the "1 per purchase" and CSM agreed, had too call the Store manager to get it sorted. But my WM, Rymal in Hamilton, has a 6 of the same coupon limit now, because people were coming in and clearing out everything. I haven't figured out if this is 6 of the same coupon, or 6 of the same item yet, bt I plan on asking next time I'm in

The problem is, changes come from corporate - a corporate office who sees by all our brags that these managers are allowing coupons that specifically do not match their guidelines. It doesn't matter if a manager cleared it, the fact is the policy never allowed it to begin with and corp are just clarifying that

They don't by word of mouth, they collect the flyers and the cashiers have to 'study' them before their shift - they do prefer if you have at least an ecopy on your phone etc to verify though

I used 5 Advil muscle & joint, 2 Vidlea & 6 Purina One coupons at our Walmart last night with no problems. I also emailed Walmart & asked about these "changes" and was told

Thank you for contacting us. In regards to your email, we presently have no coupon policy (publicly available guidelines). Our Walmart website equally reflects this.

    In answer to your question,
    # of coupons that can be used for each item
Only one acceptable coupon may be presented for each purchased item within a transaction.
Store managers reserve the right to limit quantities where multiple coupons are being used for multiple purchases of the same item.

So if anyone has issues now I suggest asking for a real manager or not clearing shelves because these problems should not be happening

I agree people should not be clearing shelves, or using more then 1 coupon that cleary states 1 per person... which is why you are seeing this going on. I have had a few problems in the past with using more then 1 of the same coupon but that was because the cashier didn't understand the CSM came and cleared it up, if this is going to be the case tho for now i will be very sad, coupons are getting harder to use now because people are greedy and selfish

1 per perchase means you cant use more than 1 coupon on it and you can only get 1 with that coupon. I got a cashier at rexall once to tell me in a sentence with the word transaction . Lol she stopped short and the facial expression says all. They allowed it lol . They dont teach you this in school lol

Really ---- Stores should stop crying about coupons and changing policies.

Stores DO NOT LOOSE ANY MONEY -- they get 100% from product manufactures PLUS in some cases --- additional monetary bonuses for honouring coupons and exceeding product sales.

They are in the busines of moving product OUT of their stores to make money.

I say -- if stores start punishing couponers -- we strike back with putting pressure on manufacturers to get stores to honour coupons AND refuse to purchase at stores that restrict use of coupons. Hit them where they hurt -- in their $$$$$ bottom line.

yes....i completely agree with you....stores are making business out of it....but i think some of the cashiers are doing this....they are making it hard to use coupons....if they see 5 to 6 coupons even if all are differnt they get confused....long time ago i was at shoppers drugmart and i wanted to use the coupon that was i think $5.00 off when you buy any 2 o.b tampons and the tampons were on sale that were 2.99 so i bought 2 and i used 5.00 of coupon and i got 2 boxes of tampons for only a dollar....that cashier started insulting me in front of other customers that peolple look for sale then they bring coupons they want stuff for free...i felt very embarassed and i was speechless....as long as i came home , i wrote a long long messege to the customer service...then the next day the store manager called me and he said that he want to applogise whatever so happen..but i only said, they(cashier) should not give dirty look to couponers...the store get money back from the manufacturer....they loose nothing then i dont know why they treat couponers as stealers...

I am not Jason however it's easiest to explain like this:

Point to one item on the conveyor belt at til and say this is a purchase. Then sweep your hand over all the items you wish to buy and say and this is a transaction.

    Thanks!
That clarifies how to word this when I need to explain.

I am still a newbie, but have learned a lot over the last few weeks.
So far- I have had no angry confrontations with cashiers or managers.
I have had 4-5 purchases (coupon / price- matches) refused ( about 10% of my PM and couponing over the past 2-3 weeks ) due to my mis-understanding the rules, but everyone was relaxed and OK with that.

I really do strive to understand the price-matching and coupons rules of each store ( clarifying with store staff, reading here, etc ) and work within those policies.

I usually just laugh and say oh good, so if all of them is a purchase, you are only charging me for one too then and they 'get' it - but if they insist its one per transaction, I separate them and say I will do x transactions then and they usually say ok just this once

Could you re-word your last post, because I really do want to understand what you are saying.
What does "you are only charging me for one too then and they 'get' it mean?

Here's where your wrong. The store ships in, say one pallet of Dove Bodywash. They display the bodywash on a stand, with a sale price. Now, if someone comes and clears that shelf, using coupons because they can get it for a good price, the store has lost money. Not in the fact they do not get re-embursed, but by the fact they no longer have any product to sell to paying customers. Stores order based on historical stock needs of their store, and base profit margins and everything on that. They need to keep ALL their customers happy (not just the couponers) by having stock in at all times.

Furthermore, stores are pressured by the companies who provide the coupons to ensure they are used properly. Look at the recent change with London Drugs! SC Johnson was losing money because the coupons were being used in excess, and forced London Drugs to change their policy.

And if your wondering about that, think of it in these terms. Say Dove prints $50,000 worth of coupons. But past practices tell them only $30,000 worth will be redeemed. And they budget accordingly. Just like Tim Hortons says we have over 6$ million or whatever in prizes! But they know that not every coffee, donut and prize pack will be redeemed. People throw out the cup without rolling all the time. So they do lose money. And they print less coupons.
