I had seen on an SC thread a deal listed for Ginseng chicken at Safeway and happened by there this morning with my 2yr old. I picked up two chickens reg almost $13 each. Club card savings tag on it indicated almost $6 off each = $7 chickens but I have 2x $3 off coupons . Scanned them through self checkout - got help with the coupons but the chickens didn't scan properly <-------(me, because I noticed!) Took my bill over to customer service where after a few minutes she gave me $10 off the first chicken and the proper $6 off the second. So one free chicken and one $4 chicken. I also got a free tub of wipes using an fpc and a 1lb clamshell of strawberries for $1.49 using an instore coupon and a further .49 savings off when my club card was scanned for some reason Did a little happy dance and loading the goodies and kiddo into the car found a nickel. = good day!

Great! Didn't know they were still on sale. How much per kg? I bought them at Co-op a few weeks ago at 4.39/kg.

The chicken is supposedly fed ginseng to make it a healthier bird, it doesn't taste of ginseng.
HOWEVER ... yes they are excellent, plump, juicy, lean chickens. Our local Save-on meat manager told us he tries to get them whenever possible because he believes they are processed better than our local brands. The regular price is way too high for me, but I'm hoping my little stash will last me til I luck into another sale.
